As President Obama and congress goes swiftly about destroying our Constitution, taking away our rights as individuals to govern ourselves and to give away our sovereignty to foreign nations there are still many of us who believe they are wrong. Now we have to do something to stop this calamity that is our federal government today.

Currently, the whole perimeter around the United States has a one hundred miles zone that leads in land. (So, like if you lived in San Diego, CA, you live in this zone. You are not out of this zone till you are out over hundred miles.) In this zone there are no Constitutional rights, and people have no idea that this exist.
Can you believe that is still in practice from the last administration?
I am not sure I understand your comment. I am not aware of any “zones” in the United States not having “any” Constitutional rights. I do know that all of the people of the United States have lost too many Constitutional rights and especially in the past 5 months.
There was much made over some of the actions taken by the Bush Administration such as wiretaps on communications outside of the country and even on suspected persons within the country. I was personally not bothered by this as I have nothing to hide that I am willing to discuss over the telephone. In fact, I was happy the federal government was trying to protect me from more terrorist attacks like 9/11. And considering there were no more attacks I guess they were successful.
Then President Bush kept over 700 of these Muslims suspected terrorist at Gitmo and treated them as Prisoners of War, which in my opinion they were and are since I do believe we are at war with Islam. I mean, it seems clear to me that if someone claims to be at war with you then you had better be at war with them too. There was much to do about these people being denied their “civil rights” which totally blew my mind. POW’s have no civil rights beyond decent treatment, which they got. Being tried in our court system like American citizens—no way.
Any how, President Bush was right in keeping these people locked up. The last I read 43% of those released are known to have rejoined the terrorists groups they had come from. And almost 20% are in jails in their own countries.
The Bush Administration had 8 years to take away the rights of people they thought to be enemies of our country and this was the worst they could do. Yet they were lambasted all over the place by people and the press. Obama on the other hand is steam rolling and doing more damage in 5 months than has been done in the last fifty years. The American people haven’t yet felt the effects of the laws that have been passed. But they will. BB
The zone is known as the “Constitutional free zone.” I would travel to Alter Net and Truthout.org to read the reports of American citizen, who have nothing to do with Islam, have endured in this zone. They did nothing wrong.
Spying on the public is illegal in the Constitution. Like you, I have nothing to hide, however, they already know of who is bringing what into the country and how it is getting here. Those routes and techniques are known. We are a super power, I can’t really see how they couldn’t know. There are reports of cases — F.B.I. sites and C.I.A. sites that have up just enough information of the sites to get more leads through the public.
I would also have to agree with you on the fact, if we have enemies (and we do) that protection is very important.
The question is begged though: Why now is everything being admitted by former high ranking personnel (Rice, Rumsfield (sp), and others) that everything they were doing was based off the fact they wanted to do it? Rice was just on PBS doing an interview. Mainstream media is bought and will not challenge money – so she did PBS and no one knew that she actually told part of the truths to the laws broken and memos spelling out torture.
Another question to ask, as you have pointed out, Obama has passed several things that the American public has not yet felt the effects of.. true. How is he able to do that? The previous admin., removed all boundaries of law that protect us. We are cattle and money makers. Unless more people become aware of the cause and effects, not just aware of enemies and where to “point the guns” (so to speak) we are dooming ourselves to a lot more than just poverty and our quality of life. In other words, it didn’t start with Obama. This is clean up time to get other things in place and “beat us down.” You cannot control a population that still has a will for freedom, independence, and will.
P.S. The reason a lot of people, including me, were pissed about the violation of the civil rights… the Genva Convention (which we/USA is a member of) passed laws on how to treat POWs.
This is where the U.S.A. has stood above reproach, till now. We never tortured the prisoners. If the current admin. is suppose to be transparent – where are the pictures that were suppose to be released? Why are they being repressed? To see what we have done will undo more then just the last fifty years of being Super Power –
Again it is an opinion – but the dots do connect. I hope that you read Alter Net and Truthout.org — plus the many other places that are not bought by the wealthy.
I have read Alternet and Truthout.org and I am sorry but I simply will not go back because I profoundly and vehemently disagree with them. I won’t go into the many issues on which I disagree because I have already in my posts. If you want my reasons you can use the search at the top right hand corner of my blog site and search any topic. Or you can go to my categories at the bottom of the right hand column.
As for President Bush, I feel he was a good president. He was only in office a matter of months when he was faced with a horrific attack on American soil that killed 3000 people. This was the first time since 1812 that Americans were attacked by a foreign agent. Many things he did after that I feel had to be done and personally am happy they were done.
Spying is a significant part of warfare. It’s called knowing what your enemy is planning. It so happens that the war with Islam requires spying on those in the United States because so many America hating Muslims are in the United States. May I suggest in my Pages (top right) you check out the War with Islam and especially Dave Gaubatz who has a post with The American Thinker today where he explains what he found at the Islamic Society of North America (ISNC) Convention last year. They are having this years convention in Washington DC today, July 4th. Where again they will be selling hate America materials, books, tee shirts. They will also be selling manuals on how to conduct jihad against America.
As for suspending some rights such as the right to privacy, I believe you will find all presidents during times of war have found this necessary. Lincoln suspended habeas corpus and jailed a lot of people without “due cause” whom he knew were spying for the South but could not prove. And I believe you will agree that Lincoln is considered a great president.
You are right that this destruction of America did not begin with Obama. it is merely at the crisis point with him. Again I would refer you to my Pages on Subverting America. Yuri Bezmenov, a former KGB officer gives a detailed explanation of how the Communist conspiracy to subjugate America. It had nothing to do with Russia since Russia and China were and are simply smoke screens to keep us occupied while the enemy works to destroy us from within. There is a series of 7 videos where he explains step by step what was done and is now being done. They were made in 1985. They are chilling. I don’t know your age but at 68 I have watched this all unfold from the 1960’s to now.
Water boarding was the only form of “torture” used and Cheney ask that the pictures be released. Obama is repressing them. I believe Obama is not releasing them because they aren’t as horrific as he wants us to believe and by not releasing them he is allowing our imaginations to imagine the worst. After all he has not shied away from saying or doing anything else that shows America in a bad light.
And as for water boarding, well my husband while in the Air Force was water boarded. It is a common practice for many military personnel who might be captured and have to submit to torture to be given some idea of what they will be facing. It is a scare tactic as one feels as if they are drowning, but in fact they are not. Certainly not nice, but I frankly don’t care if they hang these people up by their balls if they can get information to save American lives. The information gotten that led to uncovering the plot to destroy Fort Dix and McGuire AFB in NJ was gotten thru water boarding a suspect. Fort Dix is a training base for young American soldiers, my son trained there.

Are you saying you believe these people were just plain raving maniacs who were doing things for the hell of it? Main Stream Media (MSM) is bought I have no doubt but they certainly were not bought by the Bush Administration because no president in history has suffered more at the hands of the press than George W. And I think you have to accept since the MSM themselves admitted that they elected themselves a president in Obama. The Washington Post admitted giving Obama favorable press 65% of the time as opposed to favorable press for McCain 35% of the time. So if “bought” and I feel they are too then they have been bought by the Obamanites.
More on the MSM: going by police estimates of the size of the crowds the April 15th. Tea party rallies had 500,000 participants in 900+ cities and not one word from the MSM about these planned rallies. then when they saw how big they were they made obscene jokes about them. The only outlet to give the news was FOX. FOX News has made the biggest jump into first place of any news outlet in history. ABC, NBC, CBS and CNN are losing viewers daily. Now even the ones who praised Obama and called him “The One” and Godlike are starting to turn. Please see the video on post MSM not happy with what they got… .
I haven’t turned on the news yet today but the last I got from the TEA Party Rally Homes site there were 1300 cities register to be having TEA Party Rallies today. I wonder how they will be covered by the MSM?
I hope you do get into your own blog as I would enjoy seeing what you think on these topics you have just mentioned here. Maybe on your blog you can go into more detail. BB
Yes they were “raving maniacs.” Power does that.
And I have read your blog – hence why I like it. It is nice to see that someone else has a well formed opinion. I’m sure it would be delightful to speak face to face and have a constructive conversation.
And Fox News is a shame. Truths always hurt —
One government will do that. It keeps people at odds with each other. Just remember: one government.
And as for my own blog – I glad you look forward to the next thing as well. I don’t have as much time as I would like to better inform but it’s there in keywords to plug in and dig up info on one’s own. Telling someone what to think is horrible in my opinion. Let them see it as they like. (Like you. Like me.)
Ciao ~ Breet
P.S. The whole Tea Party thing – what a misconception –
History is doomed to repeat, when the past is not remembered.
