The Senate will likely begin debate on the ObamaCare bill in two to three weeks. We need to work on a handful of Democrats who can be persuaded to vote against the bill. Here is our target list:
- Blanche Lincoln (D-Arkansas) ~ (202) 224-4843
- Mark Pryor (D-Arkansas) ~ (202) 224-2353
- Mary Landrieu (D-Louisiana) ~ (202) 224-5824
- Michael Bennet (D-Colorado) ~ (202) 224-5852
- Mark Begich (D-Alaska) ~ (202) 224-3004
- Byron Dorgan (D-North Dakota) ~ (202) 224-2551
- Kent Conrad (D-North Dakota) ~ (202) 224-2043
- Ben Nelson (D-Nebraska) ~ (202) 224-6551
Many Democrats are becoming aware of what their leaders are up to and are becoming as concerned as we have been. They like us believe that our health care system needs some reform measures taken to protect the public and improve our system, but like us they are not happy with this wholesale dumping of our system to go to a government run program that has proven itself in other countries to be so inferior to what we have. Contact these Senators and tell them you want to keep what we have and just make some slow adjustments that won’t cost tax payers a dime to put into place. Like tort reform! Like opening competition among insurance companies by allowing individuals to purchase their insurance across state lines as we do any other product and insurance. Like assigning the insurance policy to the individual so that the coverage goes with the individual, or portability, which will make the individual control what he pays for and how much he pays. Like helping those who don’t have insurance to purchase their own basic policy with supplemental subsides based on income.
BEWARE: Sen. Reid and other Senate and House fanatics are planning to pull a swift take over and pass their outrageously expensive and country destroying bill in an underhanded way. Look for it and be prepared to fight back. See previous post. BB

One week after voting to pass complicated health care legislation, the Senate Finance Committee finally posted the legislative language for us to review. Americans deserve better than this! It is not acceptable for us to see the legislation AFTER it has been approved. The bill is over 1,500 pages, so check your toner cartridge before you print. Of course, Sen. Reid is writing a whole new bill at this point to combine the two Senate bills….

From the Front Lines: Congressional Leaders Craft Final Version of ObamaCare
Throughout last week, the principle architects of government-run health care-Senators Baucus, Reid, Dodd and key Administration officials including White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel-met behind closed doors to discuss the contours of the Senate bill which Mr. Reid will present to the full Senate in the coming days. They’re hard at work designing a bill which will appeal to their current constituents: the 60 Senators needed for passage. But will the bill appeal to you? Here are a few things to consider:
One Plan, Two Plan, Red Plan, Blue Plan?
After further review ; http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703746604574461434007876034.html , the Baucus plan (and its residual amendments) seems to create two “reform” plans, one for red states and the other for blue states. In classic have-your-cake-and-eat-it-too form, Senate proponents of government-run health care have passed mandates, but not fully funding the legislation. As a result, many states that are already facing significant budgetary shortfalls will soon be forced to contribute $37 billion to finance ObamaCare. Unfunded mandates are onerous enough, but it’s particularly upsetting to learn that some (red) states are expected to contribute more than other (blue) states. Consider this:
Nevada. Home to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Nevada won’t pay increased Medicaid expenses for the first five years under ObamaCare. Thanks to a deal structured by Mr. Reid, Nevada, Oregon, Rhode Island and Michigan each qualify for a provision requiring the federal government-and by implication, other states-to pick up the tab. As Mr. Reid explained, these states are “suffering more than the most.”
New York. New Yorkers must be suffering, too, because Senator Charles Schumer, member of the Senate Finance Committee, has managed to ensure that his constituents-and those of 17 other mostly blue states-don’t pay the 40% tax on their health benefit plans at $21,000, like most Americans, but instead at $25,000.
New Jersey. Home to Senate Finance Committee member, Senator Bob Menendez, as well as the facilities of 15 of the world’s largest 20 pharmaceutical companies, Mr. Menendez made sure to include in the Baucus Bill a $1 billion tax credit for companies investing in drug research and development.
Michigan & Massachusetts. Working in tandem, Senators Stabenow and Kerry protected unions, too. They included in the Baucus bill a provision which set aside $5 billion for a reinsurance program designed to defray the medical costs of union members.
Join the Light of Day Campaign! The blue-state-subsidies embedded in the Baucus Bill aren’t about health care, they’re about subsidizing political allies and punishing political enemies. Imposing harsher taxes on political opponents and their constituents – Americans who don’t want government-run health care in the first place – simply doesn’t pass the ‘what’s right’ test.
Fortunately, you have a way to fight back: join the Light of Day Campaign. Encourage your Congressional representatives to support a three-day waiting period before any vote on the health care legislation, instead of producing a bill one week after the vote. Exposing middle-of-the-night, you-scratch-my-back amendments such as those discussed above will place legislation before the light of day and let Congress and the American people understand what American taxpayers are buying and who will be paying the price.
Hey, Mr. Reid, Do Americans Qualify as ‘Suffering More than Most’, Too?
A number of Congressional leaders have secured favorable treatment under ObamaCare for their constituents. Most Americans, of course, won’t and the Baucus Bill intends to raise revenue by assessing a ‘Devise Tax’ which targets the consumption of the following health products:
Wheelchairs
Syringes
Bandages
Sutures and stitches
Birth control devices
Feeding tubes
X-ray film
Mammography supplies
Blood glucose monitors for diabetics
Peak airflow meters for asthmatics
Pacemakers
Defibrillators
Artificial knees, hips, shoulders and other joints
Exam tables
False teeth
And almost 3,000 other items! Know anyone who might need one of those? You can find out more about the Baucus Bill’s ‘health tax’ by reading John Goodman’s Health Blog here. http://www.john-goodman-blog.com/taxing-the-sick-2/
Marty Feldstein has a health care reform idea that is so simple, so elegant, and so easy to understand, one wonders what Max Baucus and his Senate Finance Committee colleagues could possibly have been thinking about for the past nine months. Clearly, they haven’t been talking to Professor Feldstein. The plan would:
provide universal coverage – almost overnight,
allow everyone access to insurance that is personal and portable,
require no net increase in taxes,
entail no reduction in benefits for the elderly,
involve more progressive redistribution than anything being proposed in any of the five health reform bills before Congress, and
create powerful incentives for 300 million Americans to control health care costs.

Finally an amendment out of Washington that makes sense! I had to sign early in the morning.
If the site gets too busy and you can’t register, try again!
Please pass this on!!
On Tuesday, the Senate health committee voted 12-11 in favor of a two-page amendment courtesy of Republican Tom Coburn that would require all Members and their staffs to enroll in any new government-run health plan. It took me less than a minute to sign up to require our congressmen and senators to drink at the same trough! Three cheers for Congressman John Fleming of Louisiana !
Congressman John Fleming ( Louisiana physician) has proposed an amendment that would require congressmen and senators to take the same healthcare plan they force on us (under proposed legislation they are curiously exempt).
Congressman Fleming is encouraging people to go on his Website and sign his petition (very simple – just email). I have immediately done just that at: http://fleming.house.gov/index.cfm?sectionid=55§iontree=29,55
Please urge as many people as you can to do the same!
If Congress forces this on the American people, the Congressmen should have to accept the same level of health care for themselves and their families.
Everyone in congress and senate should have same health care as the people are getting.Personaly I hope none of it passes, as just a means of controling all the people. When are the public and those in leadership going to realize what Obama is up to.Control all of us by any means he can. May God wake up those in Washington before its to late.
Where is the FREEDOM and Liberty in our Health care reform ???????

Health Care Reform: Failure to buy health insurance in the just-passed health care bill could get you five years in jail with a $250,000 fine. How can violating a law that’s unconstitutional be a felony?
The Congress should be ashamed of themselves for coming up with bills that are in excess of 2000 pages long, impossible to understand, and filled with pork for special interest groups (such as the money for Louisiana to secure Mary Landreau’s vote. Anywhere else, that would be called a bribe and those offering it would go to jail.
Vote them all out. These bills are nothing to be happy with.
There should be a debate on the Demand for Quality in everyone’s health care Policy if they are going to demand we all pay for one !!!!!!!!
The bill is not ready to be law yet , it does nothing to create a competitive approach to bring quality of care and costs onto a platform in which the majority of people can be the element in which Insurance companies fight to gain premiums and do so with incentives , this is how we get Value based economic appraisals built back into every facet of our economic system , and using this health care debate as a model to accomplish this is why this bill needs more debate and time .
The path in which Health care is going on with GOV option as the only angle of competition does nothing to bring with it the quality of care we receive , in fact the Government is choosing to limit care to curb costs , and so where is the quality mandate in all of this debate ?????
Those in favor of the bill in its current form, please actually read the text of this bill and then explain why you support the bill. I do care about what this bill will actually do in terms of quality and affordability. From what I’ve read, this bill does neither.

7 Men Who Rule the World from the Grave ,by Dave Breese
Find out how the erroneous and anti-Scriptural ideas of Charles Darwin, Karl Marx, Sigmund Freud, John Dewey, Soren Kierkegaard, Julius Wellhausen and John Maynard Keynes are still influencing schools, businesses and churches around you. Learn how to avoid the traps which countless people have fallen into when they have uncritically accepted the ideas of these seven men.
Why are these idealists still considered progressive when they are restrictive by their view of a sustaible life design ???? How can it be said that these time periods in which their views were implemented were sustainable but only to their well being until natural death , while the rest of mankind was sacrified for the sake of an idealists point of view , and that it was not until the struggle from this period of time born innovation that went forward to expand resources and provid a growing population with the needs it was fighting for and over , so that peace could be acheieved ?????
We need a leader who understands the past and what brought Peace to a gorwing population . Look at history , look at when Irrigation was Industrialized and made to produce a larger resource base , to feed the worlds growing populations that were at war over resources up till this time !!!!!! We are at these cross roads again , and to choose to take the path of those who history shows did nothing but bring civil unrest and wars , suggests that education is taking a backseat to the ideas of Innovation and using prosperity too accomplish the golas of proving abudance to a world that is everyday needing more and more resources to bring peace to the culture of life . Renewables , in all areas of resource supply and development , with on eye on the future of space travel and exploration , will be what is attained in the process of finding peace , Planetary regimes do not work , History shows they were a failure , because mans quest to live as long as possible , will not be suppressed in any terms by those whose paths of power takes proiority over the will power of life , as history shows us .
How is it caring when 500 billion is being removed from the medicare rolls ????? How is it caring when the Government wants to cut down the early detection methods for breast cancer that Susan Komen for the Cure has stood for all these years , looks like a helping hand to increase and bend the life expectancy in a declining manner so they can calculate a cost savings , oh whats a few hundred thousands here or there … kinda like how Stalin use to say when the population grew to big to feed ” killing people is like mowing grass , when its gets to tall you have to mow it down ” . Read this ; http://creation.com/a-tale-of-four-countries .
The resemblance is staggering as our Government is evolving into a pragmatist politically correct ruling body in that it is ever changing as it seeks a path of true conviction over a fear of the future to lose control and feed its own self interests , this is proven by looking at how it uses the printing press , as did all Government in the past that did not want to lose power , and chose to print and fund their self serving interests in stead of Society they represent ………
Those who fear the future of how to deal with a population growth that science says is unsustainable for the worlds capacity to provide its needs for , will always choose the paths of these idealists , the world and progress has periods through out history that we can point too when the resources to provide a growing population was out paced by the demands of over population , and from these times of struggles people like in the book rose up and dominated time , until progress was achieved . We must ask ourselves are we at this juncture in time again , and if so what are we going to do about it ?????
I have read the book and yes it should be a must read in our colleges and universities. Instead these same men ore all but deified on our university campuses by our brainwashed supercilious Intelligentsia. BB
