This report from the Republican Study committee on what the conservative Republicans in the House of Representatives are doing and legislation they are putting forward to try to block Obama ‘s agenda and save our country. Much important information so do go to the referred sites for additional information.  We all need to be aware of what is happening and these Congressmen are trying to get the information out there and pass legislation that will save us.  Much of what they do however will go nowhere, but we still need to be aware.  Their budgets proposals and much of their proposed legislation has passed the full House during the last 4 years but are left sitting on the shelf in Democrat Harry Reid’s Senate!    You may want to subscribe to get their reports also so I have given you all the information in this post.  BB

RSC Update: Require a PLAN

    American families are still struggling due to President Obama’s failed economic policies.  The President believes that Washington can tax, borrow and spend its way to a better future, yet House conservatives know that just like American families and businesses who have had to tighten their budgets, Washington must also start living within its means.  The first step in creating a responsible budget is to present a budget.  Republicans in the House have passed a budget for the past two years, and will proudly do so again this year.  The Senate has yet to submit a budget for the past four years and the President has submitted his budget late four out of the past five years, which is irresponsible. 

     Fiscal sanity will never be restored in Washington until the Democrats learn to properly budget, just like American families and businesses.  That is why the House, spearheaded by the RSC, is forcing the Democrats in the Senate to present and vote on a budget and is voting on former RSC Chairman Price’s bill, the “Require a PLAN Act.”  Rep. Price’s bill will compel the President to submit an estimate of the earliest fiscal year that his budget will balance, if ever.  American families have a right to know how their hard-earned tax dollars are being spent, and the RSC along with House Republicans are working to put an end to the President and the Democrats’ reckless tax, regulate, and spend agenda.

Virginia Foxx (NC-05) is building support for the Preserve Land Freedom for Americans Act, which amends the Antiquities Act to require state approval for presidential designations of national monuments. Monument designations should be subject to state approval in order to ensure that states – not only the administration – have a say in what is best for their residents.
  • Rep. Trent Franks (AZ-08) is building support for a Ronald Reagan Resolution.  Mr. Franks is seeking original cosponsors for a resolution celebrating the life of Ronald Reagan on the anniversary of his birth.
  • Rep. Paul Gosar (AZ-04) is seeking support for his Resolution Expressing No Confidence in AG Holder and Calling for His Resignation.  As Congress investigated Operation Fast and Furious in the 112th Congress, Attorney General Holder appeared before various House and Senate committee hearings to testify on the matter.  In these testimonies, Mr. Holder evaded, obstructed, and misled the investigation. Attorney General Holder has clearly lost the confidence of Congress and the American people.
  • Rep. Tim Griffin (AR-02) seeks support for his letter to President and State Department on shipment of F-16s to Egypt.  Rep. Griffin is urging members to sign on to a letter to the President and Secretary Kerry requesting a delay in the U.S. government’s shipment of F-16s to the Egyptian military.
  • Rep. Duncan Hunter (CA-50) is building support for H.R. 342 “the Guarantee Paychecks for America’s Military Families Act,” to ensure that our troops are paid in the event the debt ceiling is reached.
  • Rep. Duncan Hunter (CA-50)is building support to Report Real Unemployment Numbers.  Rep. Hunter will soon reintroduce the Real Unemployment Calculation Act would ensure that the official national unemployment rate presents an accurate account of the true unemployment situation. 
  • Rep. Mike Kelly (PA-03) is building support fora Concurrent Resolution Opposing the UN Arms Trade Treaty.   On Christmas Eve 2012, the UN voted to hold a final round of negotiations on the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT) in March 2013. The ATT raises a number of serious concerns, including threats to our Second Amendment rights, our domestic defense manufacturing base, and our ability to defend our allies such as the Republic of China (Taiwan) and the State of Israel.
  • Rep. Mike Kelly (PA-03) is seeking support for “The Advice and Consent Restoration Act,” which prevents individuals unconstitutionally appointed to the NLRB from collecting their $155,500 salaries and ensures that as long as unconstitutionally appointed individuals remain in their positions, the NLRB is prohibited from performing its authorized functions.
  • Rep. Blaine Luetkemeyer (MO-03) is building support for legislation to defund UN climate change initiatives.  With President Obama reigniting the climate change debate, Rep. Luetkemeyer is reintroducing his legislation with an added prohibition on federal contributions to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), which works to implement IPCC initiatives.  Together, U.S. contributions to IPCC and UNFCC have nearly double under the Obama administration.
  • Rep. Jeff Miller (FL-01) is building support for H.R. 324, to grant the Congressional Gold Medal, collectively, to the First Special Service Force.The First Special Service Force (FSSF) was a covert World War II military unit born through the efforts of President Franklin Roosevelt and Prime Minister Winston Churchill. The FSSF conducted ultra-high risk military missions in the Aleutian Islands, Italy, and southern France.  Once sent into action, the FSSF never failed a combat mission. 
  • Rep. Scott Perry (PA-04) seeks support for his Balanced Budget Amendment that would force the President to pass a budget that justifies each department and agency’s funding levels.
  • Rep. Marlin Stutzman (IN-03) is building support for the FFOCUS Act- Focusing the Fed on the Currency of the United States Act of 2013. This bill simply eliminates the unemployment aspect of the Fed’s dual mandate in order to focus Chairman Bernanke on price stability.

It is my belief that Israel is now taking out Hamas in the Gaza Strip first before they take out Iran.  Sort of a clean up operation on their borders and a warning to the rest of the Arab world to stand down while  they go after Iran.   All of the Middle Eastern countries want Iran taken out and they also want Israel to be the one to do it so they can then raise Holy Hell about it and the inhumanity of killing all the innocent Iranians so brutally.  The bombs to take out Iran’s nuclear program will of necessity have to kill many thousands of Iran’s population because the Iranian government made sure to place the nuclear facilities directly under or in population centers!!   this is very common practice among the Muslims who care nothing for human beings.

The Israelis  will of course have to make a ground advance in order to get the missile sites in Gaza without killing off a lot of civilians.  Israel is concerned for killing children whereas the terrorist use the children (schools and hospitals) as  shields from which to launch their weapons.  To use missiles to take out these missile sites would kill so many, so Israel must send in its soldiers to get the weapons.

As usual the world is against Israel and it’s right to exist.  Obama did his level best to support Hamas  with his  officious statement that “Israel has a right to defend itself” then going on to warn against a ground offensive warning that that would destroy any peace negotiations.  Like these so-called “peace negotiations” have been going on since the 1880′s !!    Yes, I know Israel was not even formed until 1948,   but the talking about a homeland for the dispersed Jews started a century before that.  The homeland that was given to them by God Himself !  If you believe the Bible you must then believe that the Jews were given the land of Canaan by God Himself.  They are the only people whom God Himself gave a homeland of their own and after 5000 years of living on that land except for short periods when they were driven out, they were finally dispersed all over the Earth.    It is long past time for the Jew to return and no man or group on Earth has the right to take away what God has given.  Oddly enough the very people who are denying the Jews claim to believe in the Bible; both the Christians and the Muslims believe in the Old Testament and claim it as the oldest portion of their holy book.  How ironic is that?

The Escalating Conflict Between Hamas and Israel

Over the last four days, militants in Gaza have fired more than 840 rockets at Israel. Hamas rockets have reached the outskirts of Jerusalem and Tel Aviv for the first time, thanks to the smuggling of Iranian rockets into Gaza. The increasing range and sophistication of Palestinian rockets has expanded the reach of terrorists, who now can threaten up to half of Israel’s population.

Israel has intercepted 302 of those rockets with its Iron Dome missile defense system, according to the Israel Defense Forces. Iron Dome, on which the U.S. has collaborated, has proven its worth and underscored the importance of missile defense in future U.S. military budgets.

Meanwhile, Iran is seeking—successfully—to keep the pot boiling at Israel’s expense to distract international attention from its nuclear program. A leaked International Atomic Energy Agency report indicates that Iran could soon double the number of centrifuges at its Fordo facility from 700 to 1,400.

President Obama spoke out on the fighting yesterday, saying Israel has the right to defend itself against Hamas’s missile attacks from Gaza. But he urged Israel not to launch a ground assault in Gaza, saying it would put Israeli soldiers, as well as Palestinian citizens, at greater risk and hamper an already vexing peace process.

“If we see a further escalation of the situation in Gaza, the likelihood of us getting back on any kind of peace track that leads to a two-state solution is going to be pushed off way into the future,” Obama said.

This public statement will only strengthen Hamas’s determination to continue its rocket terrorismand reap the propaganda benefits from Israeli retaliatory air strikes, because the President’s statement lowers the perceived risks of an Israeli ground intervention. Moreover, it is continued Palestinian terrorism that is the chief barrier to peace, not Israel’s legitimate efforts to protect its own citizens from indiscriminate Palestinian terrorist attacks.

Egypt, Turkey, and the Arab League have heavily criticized Israel and called for a halt of air strikes. Hamas is an offshoot of the Muslim Brotherhood and hopes to pull in Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood-dominated regime to tilt the balance against Israel. Egypt’s government will seek to have its cake and eat it, too, in the sense that it will use the crisis to denounce Israel, support Hamas, and play to anti-Israeli sentiments at home while trying to mediate a ceasefire behind the scenes that enhances its influence and justifies continued U.S. and Western aid.

If they genuinely wanted to stop the bloodshed, then these leaders should pressure Hamas to stop the bombardment, which triggered the crisis.

Obama, too, should aim primarily at restraining Hamas, not Israel.

Hamas, as usual, is bent on advancing its radical Islamist agenda at the expense of Palestinian national interests. It is a revolutionary movement more interested in destroying Israel than in building a Palestinian state or protecting Palestinians from another humanitarian tragedy that it has engineered.

Israel has called up 75,000 reservists and massed armor and at least 30,000 troops along the border, underscoring that it is serious about launching a ground intervention if Hamas continues its indiscriminate bombardment of Israeli civilians.

The U.S. needs to stand with Israel against terrorism and support its right to defend itself against a ruthless enemy that hides among Palestinian civilians to launch rockets indiscriminately at Israeli civilians. Hamas routinely uses children as shields. There can be no Israeli–Palestinian peace until Hamas and other Islamists are defeated and discredited.

This couldn’t happen here, could it?

Dear Lew and Brenda,

Yes it could—and is.

In fact, the title of the article below (highlights added), posted at the Gatestone Institute website, could just as easily be “How Political Correctness is Transforming American Education.” 

To find just one example, click here to check out the report we released earlier this year, “Education or Indoctrination: The Treatment of Islam in 6ththrough 12th Grade American Textbooks.”

You’ll learn that the typical textbook fails to note that the 9/11 terrorists were radical Muslims and fails to inform students that the state of Israel was created by a UN resolution in 1947.

Most of what is mentioned below is already beginning to happen in America. For example, a couple years ago students at a Boston-area middle school were taken on a field trip to a mosque. The boys were invited to kneel and pray while teachers stood by and did nothing. Can you imagine the outcry from faculty and the ACLU if this had happened at a Christian church?


How Political Correctness Is Transforming British Education

In Cheshire, two students at the Alsager High School were punished by their teacher for refusing to pray to Allah as part of their religious education class.

In Scotland, 30 non-Muslim children from the Parkview Primary School recently were required to visit the Bait ur Rehman Ahmadiyya mosque in the Yorkhill district of Glasgow (videos here and here). At the mosque, the children were instructed to recite the shahada, the Muslim declaration of faith which states: “There is no god but Allah and Mohammed is his messenger.” Muslims are also demanding that Islamic preachers be sent to every school in Scotland to teach children about Islam, ostensibly in an effort to end negative attitudes about Muslims.

British schools are increasingly dropping the Jewish Holocaust from history lessons to avoid offending Muslim pupils, according to a report entitled, Teaching Emotive and Controversial History, commissioned by the Department for Education and Skills.

British teachers are also reluctant to discuss the medieval Crusades, in which Christians fought Muslim armies for control of Jerusalem: lessons often contradict what is taught in local mosques.

In an effort to counter “Islamophobia” in British schools, teachers now are required to teach “key Muslim contributions such as Algebra and the number zero” in math and science courses, even though the concept of zero originated in India.

In the East London district of Tower Hamlets, four Muslims were recently jailed for attacking a local white teacher who gave religious studies lessons to Muslim girls; and 85 out of 90 schools have implemented “no pork” policies.

Schools across Britain are, in fact, increasingly banning pork from lunch menus to avoid offending Muslim students. Hundreds of schools have adopted a “no pork” policy, according to a recent report by the London-based Daily Telegraph.

The culinary restrictions join a long list of politically correct changes that gradually are bringing hundreds of British primary and secondary education into conformity with Islamic Sharia law.

The London Borough of Haringey, a heavily Muslim district in North London, is the latest school district to switch to a menu that is fully halal (religiously permissible for Muslims).

The Haringey Town Council recently issued “best practice” advice to all schools in its area to “ban all pork products in order to cater for the needs of staff and pupils who are not permitted contact with these for religious reasons.”

Local politicians have criticized the new policy as pandering to Muslims, and local farmers, who have pointed out that all schools in Britain already offer vegetarian options, have accused school administrators of depriving non-Muslim children of a choice.

Following an outcry from non-Muslim parents, the town council removed the guidance from its website, although the new policy remains in place.

At the Cypress Junior School, in Croydon, south London, school administrators announced in the school newsletter dated June 1, 2012 that the school has opted for a pork-free menu “as a result of pupil and parental feedback.”

The announcement states: “Whilst beef, chicken, turkey and fish will all feature, as well as the daily vegetarian and jacket potato or pasta option, the sausages served will now be chicken rather than pork.”

In Luton, an industrial city some 50 kilometers (30 miles) north of London where more than 15% of the population is now Muslim, 23 out of 57 schools have banned pork.

In the City of Bradford, a borough of West Yorkshire in Northern England where there are now twice as many practicing Muslims that there are practicing Anglicans, 24 out of 160 schools have eliminated pork from their menus. In Newham (East London), 25 out of 75 schools have banned pork.

Other pork-free schools include Cranford Park Primary School in Hayes (Middlesex), and Dog Kennel Hill Primary in East Dulwich (South London).

The Borough of Harrow in northwest London was among the first in Britain to encourage halal menus. In 2010, Harrow Council announced plans to ban pork in the borough’s 52 state primary schools, following a switch by ten secondary schools to offer halal-only menus.

According to the UK-based National Pig Association, which represents commercial pork producers, “It is disappointing that schools cannot be sufficiently organized to give children a choice of meat. Sausages and roast pork are staples of a British diet and children enjoy eating them. If products can be labeled with warnings that they contain nuts and vegetarian dishes can be made and kept separate from meat dishes, [we] don’t see why the same can’t apply to pork.”

Lunch menus are not the only area in which “cultural sensitivity” is escalating in British schools.

In West Yorkshire, the Park Road Junior Infant and Nursery School in Batley has banned stories featuring pigs, including “The Three Little Pigs,” in case they offend Muslim children.

In Nottingham, the Greenwood Primary School cancelled a Christmas nativity play; it interfered with the Muslim festival of Eid al-Adha. In Scarborough, the Yorkshire Coast College removed the words Christmas and Easter from their calendar not to offend Muslims.

Also in Cheshire, a 14-year-old Roman Catholic girl who attends Ellesmere Port Catholic High School was branded a truant by teachers for refusing to dress like a Muslim and visit a mosque.

In Stoke-on-Trent, schools have been ordered to rearrange exams, cancel swimming lessons and stop sex education during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. In Norwich, theKnowland Grove Community First School has axed the traditional Christmas play to “look at some of the other great cultural festivals of the world.”

Meanwhile, the politically correct ban on pigs in Britain also extends to toys for children. A toy farm set called HappyLand Goosefeather Farm recently removed pigs in order to avoid offending Muslims.

The pig removal came to public attention after a British mother bought the toy as a present for her daughter’s first birthday. Although the set contained a model of a cow, sheep, chicken, horse and dog, there was no pig, despite there being a sty and a button which generated an “oink” sound.

After the mother complained, the Early Learning Centre (ELC), which manufactures the toy, responded: “Previously the pig was part of the Goosefeather Farm. However due to customer feedback and religious reasons this is no longer part of the farm.”

After a public outcry, however, ELC later reversed its decision: “We recognize that pigs are familiar farm animals, especially for our UK customers. We have taken the decision to reinstate the pig and to no longer sell the set in international markets where it might create an issue.”

As you who read this blog know well I stand for Israel and always have.  Tomorrow is the anniversary of the Balfour  Declaration which was the official beginning of the movement to restore the Jewish people to the homeland given to them by god himself when he lead them out of bondage from Egypt and after bringing them back to their religious roots for 40 years of wandering and learning to become a nation.  So just a bit of history that was emailed to me and I thought you might find of interest if you are unfamiliar with the birth of Israel.  It started in 1917 and had support of the League of Nations but it took Hitler and the Holocaust for the world to finally act.  Please we must never forget this.  But isn’t that always the case that some one must die before anything is done?  An intersection needs a red light but first someone must die.  A nation needed made but first 600,000 people had to die.  BB

Jewish immigrants have just landed at Ben Gurion Airport from France, as they first step foot on the soil of their new homeland Israel.

Tomorrow (November 2), some Israelis and friends of the Jewish State around the world will mark the 94th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, which is part of the fulfillment of end-time Biblical prophecy, and the amazing story of the rebirth of Israel as a nation.

“Thus says the Lord God: ‘Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own Land.’”  (Ezekiel 37:21)

The Balfour declaration (1917), which is named after Arthur James Balfour, the British Foreign Secretary during the World War 1, influenced the Jewish communities of the world to believe that Great Britain would support the creation of a Jewish state in the Middle East.

Balfour sent an official letter declaring support for the establishment of a Jewish homeland in the area then known as “Palestine” to Baron Walter
Rothschild (the 2nd Baron Rothschild), a leader of the British Jewish community, who accepted it on behalf of the Zionist Federation of Great Britain and Ireland.

The immortal words of the letter said the following:

“His Majesty’s Government view with favor the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people, and will use their best endeavours to facilitate the achievement of this object, it being clearly understood that nothing shall be done which may prejudice the civil and religious rights of existing non-Jewish communities in Palestine, or the rights and political status enjoyed by Jews in any other country.”

With those words, which were later incorporated into the Sèvres peace treaty that ended hostilities between Britain and Ottoman Turkey at the conclusion of the First World War, the Zionist cause took a giant step forward.

Zionism is the belief in the establishment of a national homeland for the Jewish people in their ancestral Biblical homeland. The word “Zionism” comes from Zion which is also called Jerusalem.

The letter was also incorporated into the League of Nations Mandate for Palestine, becoming further enshrined in international law.

In another letter Balfour sent, after WWI ended, he answered some of the critics of the Declaration who said that it wasn’t right for England to “impose” Zionism on the local Arab population.

“I do not think that Zionism will hurt the Arabs, but they will never say they want it,” he said.

“Whatever be the future of Palestine, it is not now an ‘independent nation’, nor is it yet on the way to become one. …If Zionism is to influence the Jewish problem throughout the world Palestine must be made available
for the largest number of Jewish immigrants.”

While few celebrate the anniversary of this important British document, many Arabs will mark it with deep regret.

Last year on the anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, Islamic Jihad released a statement saying, “[We] renew our commitment to our right to recover our entire land without
sacrificing an inch of soil.  We reject any solution at the expense of principles in our conflict with the Zionists, and we consider any recognition of a “Jewish State” by the Balfour Declaration the most serious trial of our history and the struggles and sacrifices of our people.”

Sadly, as well, many people who call themselves Christians see no prophetic significance in the Balfour Declaration or Israel’s becoming a nation in 1948.
Many have even become hostile and are siding with Israel’s enemies.

Today, however, is a day for Believers to stand up and celebrate the nation of Israel, simply because it is a fulfillment of Bible Prophecy.

Israel’s existence today is proof that the Word of God is alive and true.  What other religious book has prophecies written more than 1500 years ago, that are being fulfilled today in our generation?

Every day Jewish people from around the world are immigrating back to their Biblical homeland, Israel.

United Kingdom: birthplace of Christian Zionism

“Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your offspring from the east, and from the west I will gather you.”  (Isaiah 43:5-6)

It’s difficult to believe in 2011, but the United Kingdom was the birthplace of the “Restorationist” movement in the Protestant Church, which was
the forerunner to modern-day Christian Zionism.  

Throughout most of the Victorian era (1837-1901), despite commonplace anti-Semitism among much of the British elite (particularly the military and diplomatic corps) the prevailing attitude among most British government officials was that the ‘restoration’ of the Jews to their ancient homeland was part of the duty of every Christian.

Today, the last vestiges of this movement can be found in Jerusalem at Christ Church, the Anglican church just inside the Jaffa Gate to the Old City.

Built in 1849, Christ Church is the oldest Protestant Church in the Middle East and has kept a lonely vigil, defiantly continuing to carry the torch of Biblical Zionism that its founders first carried to Jerusalem 150 years ago; despite the objection of many of their Arab neighbors (including the Anglican Bishop of Jerusalem) and the head of their own denomination, the Archbishop of Canterbury.

Christ Church is likely to be one of the few places in Israel that the Balfour Declaration’s 94th anniversary will be celebrated, or even noticed.

There will be no official events in Israel to mark the anniversary.

Today, most Israeli schoolchildren don’t learn a lot about Lord Balfour or much else that is of importance to the early Zionist movement.  In
fact, it is common for Christian friends of Israel who visit the Holy Land to find that their knowledge on the subject is vastly superior to Israelis who grew up here.

Most Israeli teachers are products of the post-Zionist Israeli University system where the patriotism of earlier generations is viewed as passé.

It should be noted that a lot of the eight million Jews living outside of Israel are Zionist in theory, as they support Israel financially.

However the true Jewish Zionists are those who immigrate to Israel where there is a population today of almost six million Jews.  In 2010 only 19,000 Jews made aliyah (immigrated to Israel), though that was an increase of nine percent from 2009.

The Jewish Agency handed out Israeli ID cards to these new Jewish immigrants from England after a ceremony at the Western (Wailing) Wall. Everyone is holding up their Citizenship cards.

Jewish Zionism is a fading ideology within Israel, however we see a wonderful movement of Christians who are standing up and calling themselves Christian Zionists.  They support Israel as a nation, and encourage the Jewish people
to move back to their ancient homeland.

Just as Lord James Balfour and many other British Christians were so instrumental in getting the Zionist movement started, so too today is the movement’s future largely depends on the efforts, and
prayers of Christians who love Israel and the Jewish people for the simple reason that the Bible tells them to.

As you watch this video you will see  at the end they state that the United States isn’t in the Biblical picture and offer reasons why our country is not a player considering we have historically been a firm allie of Israel until Obama and we have been the world leader during the past century.  We are in fact considered the last world leader standing.   One reason given is that we will have destroyed ourselves as a world leader by then and this dog and pony show now being played out in Washington may very well be the killing blow.    Interesting. I have been in a state of depression since hearing the conclusions  our Creature in the White House made during  his comments on  the State of Israel today.  He said that “America believes….” as if he was speaking for me.  I wish to state here and now that Barack Obama was most certainly NOT speaking for me, Brenda Fay Bowers.

As anyone who has read the Bible (both Old Testament and New Testament) can verify for you God claimed the Israelis, or Jews, as His Chosen People.  The Jews have existed as a people  longer than any other people and they did this thru greater adversity than any other known group of people.  There must be a reason for this!  So even if you don’t believe the words of the Bible you must see this group of people as unique among the peoples of this Earth.   With this evidence it is apparent that the Lord loves and is standing with the Jews.  Our President is standing firmly with those who want only to annihilate the Jews.  I stand with Israel.  BB

» Egypt Reminds Us We Are Running Out Of Time – Not Oil – Big Government.

This is a great article on Egypt, the world and the United States as things stand now.  These are my thoughts exactly but the author expresses them much better than I can.   If you will recall my first comment blog on this Egypt thing was that perhaps now our government would seriously decide that we the United States should at long last use our own resources and make ourselves oil, and all sources of energy,   independent of the entire world.  We have the  enough oil to last at least two hundred years and enough coal and natural gas for that long and more before we find ourselves needing another energy source.  In two hundred years surely we will have learned enough to harness the suns energy or some other as yet unknown source so I don’t think we need to hesitate to tap our own supplies.  This has been my opinion since I became aware of our countries energy needs way back when in history—-remember I am an old broad :) .

Of more importance even than the United States oil supply is the relationships  that will be the outcome of this seismic shift in the Middle East.  How far will it spread and what or whom will rise to the top of the heap.   The entire world, at least the entire Western world has “dependent” ties to the Middle East.  What will happen if the revolution spreads?  What will happen if extreme Muslims rise to the top?  What will happen to the European nations who are already having difficulty with their multi-cultural societies that shut Muslims out and have now created a Muslim nation within their nations?  So many questions and no real answers; we just have to wait for developments.

And while we are waiting we have in the White House a fool who enjoys hearing himself make unfortunately asinine statements and speeches.  BB

Egypt Reminds Us We Are Running Out Of Time – Not Oil

What is going to happen next in Egypt?  According to Mubarak, “the result will be extremism and radical Islam.”  Others aren’t so sure.  What is certain is that the risk factor in the Middle East has risen again.  That means the world’s oil supply is at risk as well.  A wise country would do what it could to insulate its people from that risk.  It is beyond a serious question as to whether the United States will.

Revolutions are not things of certainty. For instance, once underway, the ideals and prospects for the French Revolution once were touted by the likes of our own Jefferson and Madison. Washington, the soldier among the three, was far more circumspect.  The freedom won by the likes of the Marquis Lafayette in the early days of the French Revolution was lost not long after in the ensuing chaos.  Lafayette, the same man who helped win our Revolution, would eventually be jailed for years while many thousands died in The Terror before Napoleon dashed any hope for democracy.  So much for the foresight of our 3rd and 4th Presidents – they fanned the early embers only to see those embers engulf a nation.  (Perhaps a lesson for nations today: keep your mouths shut!  No hope that Obama will  listen or leanr. BB)

Our current President encouraged those taking part in the first Act of Egypt’s current drama.  Given that it was the military of Egypt that removed an intransigent Mubarak and now run its streets, it can hardly be said that freedom has been assured.  The difficult part lies ahead.  The only certainty in front of us now is uncertainty.  (I will say here that the Egyptians Army at least at the top is heavy with people who have studied and trained in the United States with several top generals being graduates of our military academies. As a result the Army has always had a rapport with our Army if not our government.  Don’t know how this will help but it certainly can’t hurt.  BB)

Returning to the French Revolution, its effects were hardly restricted to the French.   International trade was affected and the rise of Napoleon brought serious concerns of war in the United States and actual wars to Europe.  Egypt may play a similar role today.

Will Mubarak be right about the future of Egypt?

He points out that ‘We see the democracy the United States spearheaded in Iran and with Hamas, in Gaza, and that’s the fate of the Middle East.’”  If Mubarak is right then Israel will be surrounded by sworn enemies on virtually every side.  The risk to international trade in oil and beyond would be significant.  Even if he is wrong, the trajectory of Israel’s enemies threatens our economic security.

Of course, the threat to the United States is self-imposed. Never has history recorded that a super power has elevated commerce to a level of dependence on those doing it harm. We indeed are the first such power that directly funds, in staggering amounts, those countries that harbor or fund our most principal enemies – and we have done so not for a moment in time but for years on end. History will hardly forgive such an error.  (Even if the people of the Middle East generally like Americans and envy our way of life and freedoms they hate our government for what Washington has done to keep them under the yoke of dictators for decades.   we the People allowed this to happen!  While we were wallowing in our  affluence we turned either a blind eye or no eye at on on Washington.  It is just now that we are seeing how this neglect has almost lost us our liberties. Soon we will take notice of what our government has done to make America hated all over the world.  Will We the People pay the price for this neglect? BB)

By failing to tap our own plentiful resources, that one policy decision has meant:

(1) that the price of oil is therefore artificially high,

(2) that we pay an inflated price for oil with dollars that fund terrorists,

(3) that we pay excessive foreign aid to buy “stability” among the troubled nations of the region,

(4) that we have higher defense budgets and more wars,

(5) that we have less jobs here at home,

(6) that we subsidize Americans who cannot afford the artificially high oil prices we helped create, and

(7) that we generally endure a self-imposed, lower standard of living.  (This one may surprise some of you, but just give it some thought.  All the jobs we would have for Americans if we tapped  our own resources.  How much money we would have in taxes with a booming economy and thus much in taxes as well as saved by not funding the tyrants and buying friendships.  And, far fewer wars and “interests” to protect.  Better lives for all including those who protect uour country!    Our potential is to be the riches and most advanced country in the world just for changing our governments negative involvement in the world! It has been our national policy to do so much damage to ourselves as no civilizations before us has.

Now with the potential explosion of the Middle East staring us in the face, we face the potential of $5, $6 and $7 a gallon gasoline prices if not worse.

A wise country would plan ahead to avoid such danger.  We would hire American workers, to tap American resources, to lower the price of oil, to reduce government subsidies to our citizens, to reduce the amount of money going to terrorists and the states that fund them, to lessen the need for foreign aid and to lower our defense budgets if not the need for war – all in the name of security and preserving our standard of living.  So many benefits could flow from the reversal of one bad policy decision.

We would do all of that because if Jefferson and Madison could be wrong on France – I have no doubt that this Administration – which can hardly run this government – will be wrong in its estimates on how Egypt will fare.

1979 Revisited | The Weekly Standard.

A fairly accurate history lesson of the situation in 1979 that our President might have learned from if he had bothered to learn it or ask advice from someone who knew the past.

The assessment of the Obama Administrations strategy however I very much disagree with.  I believe very strongly that Obama and his cronies are very much involved in Egypt now and have been working for this very event in the Middle East.  At the same time they were trying to demoralize and even kill off our troops by keeping them in the snake pit of Pakistan/Afghanistan .  President Bush was slowly pulling out of that mess and watching more closely the events in the Middle East.  President Bush was preparing for this sort of event and move by the Muslim Brotherhood (the group backing and responsible for all the terrorist activity!) by staying in Iraq and putting  missiles in Poland.  Obama immediately  went back on our promise to our allies the Polish in order to appease Russia and by this move he left all of Europe open to attack by the Muslims as well as oil extortion by oil rich Russia.  The Russians are every bit as vulnerable to the Muslims and especially to China but they  have ever played the games with world leaders even to their own detriment.  The Communist fell in 1989 much due to this stupid maneuvering just one up the United States and it will cut it’s own throat again.

 

Obama knows however just exactly what he is doing!  He wants a Muslim Caliphate to return to the region ( the last one fell in 1920′s)  and eventually take over the world.

 

But I still think this and the referred articles make good reading and give some good insight into the past, the present and the possible future.  And one fact we MUST keep in mind is that the Egyptians people involved in this are 30 and under who have had no experience with  free elections or the democratic process.  They have a lot to learn and little time in which to do it.  We can only pray a strong and honest leader comes forward; they need a George Washington.  BB

1979 Revisited

Scrambling for a simple standard to measure events in Egypt and across the Arab world, the blogosphere and the airwaves have been full of references to 1979. That point of reference is probably more apt than imagined, for much more happened that year than just the Iranian revolution. It was also the year of the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan, the seizure of the Grand Mosque in Mecca by Sunni extremists, and the year that Saddam Hussein assumed overt power in Iraq. In sum, it was a year when the political tectonic plates of the region shifted violently and profoundly.

It was a shift that was rapidly reflected in American strategy making and military posture. The “Carter Doctrine,” nominally a reaction to the Soviets and expressed as a willingness to defend the region against outside influence, quickly morphed into a broader doctrine of opposing any hostile bid for hegemony – be it local or external. The United States began to move from being an “off-shore balancer,” content to work entirely through regional regimes, to being ever more deeply and directly involved. And the ad hoc “Joint Readiness Deployment Task Force” became, in 1981, U.S. Central Command.  (Carter was wrong too!  BB)

While the region’s tremors have not been as sudden as in 1979, the ground is rumbling from North Africa to South Asia. The United States has itself delivered a number of the jolts – particularly to Iraq – as have al Qaeda and its flock of “associated movements.”  Iran’s revolutionary regime has proven itself alternatively shaky and able to shake, expending the remnants of the shah’s conventional forces (and hundreds of thousands of militiamen) against Iraq but since then through proxies like Hezbollah and the increased effort to acquire nuclear weapons. The region’s other regimes, such as Saudi Arabia or Pakistan, have obvious vulnerabilities.

More disturbing than President Obama’s tepid and ambiguous responses to the demonstrations in Egypt (which is all that he can or should do in the near-term) is the lack of longer-range policy goals, let alone anything like a how-to strategy. And the administration’s plan, ensured by the most recent announcements of Pentagon budget cuts, is to shrink the U.S. military posture. In sum, at the moment when the movement to create a new order in the region is accelerating – and who can seriously think that the likelihood of violence is diminishing, will be self-regulating, or can be met only with “soft power?” – the United States appears to be backing away. It is one thing to acknowledge that we cannot determine or dictate the outcome of the changes coming to the greater Middle East, quite another to act as though we don’t care enough to continue to exert a shaping influence.

Barack Obama wanted to focus on “reconstructing” America rather than reconstructing the world, particularly after the trials of the Bush years, the Muslim world. And his method – with the 2009 Afghanistan reviews providing the clearest examples – has generally been to avoid making any decisions until the last moment and then limiting commitments to the point where they undercut the value of the decision itself. But things that cannot go on eventually do not.

There is a cautionary lesson here for the Republican Party.  The party’s 2010 revival, of course, had nothing to do with foreign policy, and congressional leaders are naturally devoting their immediate energies to fulfilling their domestic mandate. And thus far they’ve been sensibly supporting the administration’s efforts on Egypt. But conservatives, especially those who would be president, should ponder the 1979-come-again moment at length – including its connections to Ronald Reagan’s 1980 moment.

Obama seems not to have been able to keep his mouth shut again and naturally what came out was totally devoid of any understanding of history let alone current events and relationships.  In the first place the United States should have followed the lead of the only country that has EVERYTHING to lose in this situation: Israel!  Israel is saying nothing, nothing at all.  This is what the rest of the world is doing also.  But our demented government has to speak up and make things much much worse.  With Obama’s first speech he gave Mubarak the out of staying in control  until September by telling him that he Mubarak must see that there are free and honest elections in September.   The people want the dictator out now, not in September eight months from now. There was the possibility the Army, which is trusted by the people, could have taken over and  supervised a fair election AFTER Mubarak left the country with all his corrupt cronies with him.  The military was just staying in place vowing they would not fire on their own people while trying to get the government to lift all the bans and allow the country to get back to  operating with some stability.  They wanted Mubarak to open up the Internet, phone service, water, power, banking, garbage pick up and everything else the government had shut down to  force the people back.

Now Obama speaks again and we see more violent fighting among those who want the government to change and those who want the government to stay.  It is my belief there are no forces who want the Mubarak dictatorship with the corruption and attendant poverty of the people  to stay in power.  There is however the Muslim Brotherhood, Iran and any number of groups hostile to the United States and Israel who want, and in fact,  thrive on chaos.  Chaos will allow the killers to come in and dominate!

The second speech was taken as a sign for more  violence and an invitation for the Muslims terrorists to come in as he seemed to be throwing Mubarak over and take the place of the people.  But what I heard was Obama calling for violence and chaos with that speech.  Listen closely to it once more and watch the body language and listen to the words that he emphasizes.  Remember  his government “never let’s a good crisis go to waste” and Obama is all for the Muslim world ruling the world.  We have all seen over and over again how Obama bows before the Muslim world.

In the meantime there seems to be a more peaceful turn over of government in Tunisia.  I hope this remains the case.

I just sw3itched on the TV and I  am seeing what I prayed I would not see.  Dear Lord this is bad.  As I am watching TV now at 3:39 pm Eastern time here and 10 pm or there abouts  in Egypt there is much violence and gun fire and the Army has had to move in.  They are firing over the heads of the people in hopes they will disperse to their homes.

Oh well, you’re watching to.  I am afraid that if Egypt goes to the Muslims then the entire Mediterranean and Middle East will be  gone to Islam.  We will be standing alone to watch Israel, Great Britain, Germany  disappear under the power and numbers of the hordes.  Unlike WWII the United States is no longer in a position to help to save the world.   The Roman Empire was swallowed by the hordes also.  Isn’t that the way we have always known our civilization would disappear?

I have been listening to Glenn Beck this week and hoping he was wrong in his prediction that the world would divide in three parts:  The Mediterranean and Middle East as a Muslim caliphate,  Asia and Japan and even perhaps Australia  under China and then the United States standing alone with Canada and the hodgepodge of poverty and corruption and dictatorships that is Central and south America.  BB

 

Egypt about 11pm,  4:16 pm Eastern.  The Army has been busy pushing people out of the square.  It appears the groups who were being violent, the Pro-government people have been pushed out and the Anti-government people are staying.   The Internet and television came on shortly before all the Pro-government hordes attached those in the square.  How convenient for Mubarak!   The Army has appeared to be with the Anti-government people up to this point and they still seem to be, but it is a tough call.  BB

I am so disgusted with the entire world for putting up with the Muslims and in particular with Iran.  Iran will get their nuclear weapons and then all Hell will break out as all the countries in the Middle East bring out their big guns which Russia and China will gladly sell them.

Or, Israel will again save all of our butts by taking out Iran.  That is unless our Stupidity in the White House doesn’t order the US Air Force to stop Israel which is very likely considering  that the US is after all a Muslim country!

But for you who have been following this circus with Iran the Heritage Foundation has provided a good summary of the efforts made by Obama thus far.  BB

The Ahmadinejad Victory Tour

Yesterday, State Department spokesman P.J. Crowley confirmed Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had submitted an application for a visa to attend the United Nations nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty conference in New York next month. Since Crowley also confirmed that Ahmadinejad is likely to be awarded the visa, the Iranian President can now look forward to witnessing first hand the failure of President Barack Obama’s Iran policy.

At first the White House believed that President Barack Obama’s sheer power of personality and persuasion would be enough to convince the Iranian regime to give up their nuclear program. So the President gave a conciliatory speech in Cairo, sent a direct message to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, and opened up direct talks with the Iranian regime. The results have been crystal clear: the Iranian regime has only accelerated its nuclear program, accelerated its ballistic missile program, and further crushed internal dissent, all while the Obama administration remained silent as the Green Revolution was brutally crushed.

Now the Obama administration is seeking “crippling” sanctions on Iran through the U.N. Security Council. This is another Obama fantasy that plays right into Iran’s “cheat, retreat, and delay” nuclear strategy. Whatever goodwill the Obama administration hoped to get from Russia by caving into their New START demands has not paid off. With help from Turkey, China and now Egypt, Iran’s rope-a-dope U.N. diplomacy will render any U.N. sanctions regime completely toothless.

All these Ahmadinejad victories over President Obama would not be so alarming if the Obama administration were not actively undermining our nation’s ability to deter and defend against Iranian nuclear attack. First there was President Obama’s decision to cancel missile defense installations in Eastern Europe. The Obama administration claimed that their alternative system, called the Phased Adaptive Approach, could defend U.S. allies by 2020. But a recent Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) report warns Iran may be able to reach the United States with an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) by 2015. This means President Obama has created a new “window of vulnerability” for our enemies to exploit.

And then there is President Obama’s New START agreement which limits U.S. conventional, nuclear and missile defense options. Former director of the Missile Defense Agency, Retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Henry Obering, noted in The Washington Times this week: “Strangely, New START may actually rest on what Russia permits the United States to do to defend Americans and our allies from such a missile attack. This equation is both bizarre and unsafe.”

“Bizarre and unsafe” is a generous assessment of the Obama administration’s efforts to protect America from Iran’s nuclear ambitions so far. The Obama administration must change course. The United States should impose and enforce the strongest possible sanctions, even if doing so requires action outside of the U.N. framework, and step up public diplomacy efforts to discredit the regime’s legitimacy and offer support to opposition groups, such as the Green Movement. Most importantly the Obama administration must make the commitment to create and sustain a layered missile defense system, designed to counter every range of Iranian missiles in all stages of flight, including those that threaten the territory of the United States and its allies. This would include scrapping New START, returning missile defense installations to Eastern Europe and fully funding missile defense. For more, see 33 Minutes.
