Jimmy1920, the ridiculously expensive medical equipment has been one of my beefs for years. No reason for this but greed. A simple plastic seat and aluminum tube legs bath tub seat $35, Extend the seat a bit so a portion sets outside the tub and charge from $150. up. And that is the cheap stuff! Simple Xray equipment that has been around for half a century or more runs in the tens of thousands; up grade it a bit and it goes for millions. Solution: tax it so the tax can be passed onto the customer naturally. But then the customers are merely voters. We don't add to the campaign banks that eventually will belong to the Congressman.

Our solution will be to start electing honest people regardless of their party affiliation whether Dem. Rep. or Independent. I think 2010 will see a lot more Independents running. Sarah Palin showed courage and the way by endorsing the Independent in NY rather than the Democrat posing as a Republican who was endorsed by the Republican Party.

Thank you for stopping by and commenting. BB

The durable medical equipment industry has made gobs of profits under Medicare. Why? Because Congress has blocked efforts by CMS to permit competitive bidding for medical devices and equipment.

Their solution. Tax them. That's not an effort to squeeze them out.

That's a kick back.

It IS what we do for people who can not afford health insurance--we tax payers pay for it. So with that understood I hope we can both agree that no one is dying in the streets of the United States for lack of health care. All I want to do is limit tax payers liability for the health care just to those who can not afford to purchase their own. Obama and the Democrats in Congress want me and you and the man behind the tree to pay for everyones health care.

President "Good old Boy" Johnson hung the country with a small does of tax payer funded health care coverage in 1965 called Medicare. Now after 45 years Medicare is broke, bankrupt, bleeding big time and it takes up 27% of the national budget. Now that is approximately 15 million people. Now can you figure out for yourself just how much giving so-called free health care to the entire population will cost?

I sometimes have to ask myself if we haven't already been visited by aliens from another planet and if they just dropped in on Earth yesterday. BB

I have a good idea. Lets get rid of all health insurance. Then, when someone has to go to the hospital and can't afford it, the tax payers will pay for it. Oh wait, thats what we already do for people who can't afford it.

I think she is one of the few sane people in congress Ben. What is "crazy" in this newsletter? Is congress seriously considering a second Stimulus Bill? Hasn't
the first one been a failure? Isn't The United States Preventive Services Task Force used by the insurance industry as a standard? Will not The United States Preventive Services Task Force recommendations be used by the federal government in determining what medical procedures to approve in any public option plan and Medicare and Medicaid? How many YOUNGER women have had breast cancer? Have the simple breast cancer examinations not saved these women's lives?

You Ben should be so "crazy". BB

I didn't know about those two. Grass in gravel driveways? Really?!? Too much!

Every law written has a good reason for it at the time. It is just that after the time has passed the law remains. Our entire legal system needs a total overhaul.

Happy Thanksgiving Ken. : ) BB

Other examples are the fact that refrigerant ( the gases in your heat pump) containers MUST be transported ALWAYS in the ORIGINAL corrugated carton. Violation of Federal law to do otherwise. In some NC counties, it is illegal for certain types of real estate to have grass growing in gravel driveways. The list is endless.
