• The RSC recently updated this list of member-sponsored health care initiatives. RSC members have introduced no fewer than 53 bills related to health care.

 

• Rep. Paul Broun (GA-10) introduced H.R. 3889, the Offering Patients True and Individualized Options Now Act. The OPTIONS Act is a free-market alternative to the Democrats’ government-centered proposals.

 

Outlook

Here is a preview of upcoming Democrat proposals to advance their big-government, anti-taxpayer agenda.

• Because the FY 2010 budget process is not complete and the current Continuing Resolution (CR) funding the federal government expires this week, the House will consider another CR to continue funding for an additional month or more. This CR may be combined with the Interior Appropriations Conference Report.

 

• The House will also consider H.R. 3854, a combination of 8 separate bills dealing with Small Business Administration loan programs.

• In both the House and Senate, Democrat leaders continue to meet behind closed doors to combine each their committee-passed versions of health care legislation into one bill for each chamber. Although Republicans and the American people are still being kept in the dark, Speaker Pelosi may unveil the combined House version this week.

The following key legislation came through the House of Representatives last week.

• Last week, the House passed H.R. 1619, the Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2009 and H.R. 3585, the Solar Technology Roadmap Act.

• Rep. Jeff Flake (AZ-06) sent a letter to House leadership asking them to remove earmarks from a defense appropriations bill that would go to former clients of the PMA Group, which is the subject of an ongoing investigation by the House Ethics Committee.

• Rep. Marsha Blackburn (TN-07) has introduced H.R. 3924, which would prohibit the Federal Communications Commission from enacting Net Neutrality rules to regulate the internet.

Outlook

Here is a preview of upcoming Democrat proposals to advance their big-government, anti-taxpayer agenda.

• H.R. 3962, Speaker Pelosi’s 2,000 page takeover of health care, will most likely come to the House floor this Thursday or Friday. It is possible that this timeline will be pushed back to Saturday or even later. A summary of the legislation can be found here.

• The House is also scheduled to consider H.R. 2868, legislation dealing with chemical facilities and H.R. 3639, which would move up the effective date of the CARD Act (legislation enacted earlier this year that results in increased credit card rates for all consumers while reducing the availability of credit).

House Floor Activity

The following key legislation came through the House of Representatives last week.

• Last week, the House passed the conference report to H.R. 2996 the Interior Appropriations bill with a 16.9% increase in spending over last year. The legislation also included a Continuing Resolution to extend current federal funding through December 18, 2009.

• The House also passed H.R. 3854, a combination of eight separate bills dealing with the Small Business Administration.

Pelosi plan what is in and what is not from Rep. Tom Price

Yesterday, Speaker Nancy Pelosi and other House Democrats unveiled H.R. 3962, their latest version of the health care legislation that’s been hotly debated for months in Congress and across the country. (Read it here.)

 

One thing is clear. Your concerns about a government takeover of health care have been totally ignored by Speaker Pelosi and her allies, who worked behind closed doors to write this bill. After months of debate, the bill they introduced today is essentially the same bill the American people have already flat-out rejected.

 

Government-run insurance? Still in the bill. Higher taxes? You betcha. An individual mandate that restricts choices and innovation by requiring Washington to define what qualifies as health insurance? Check. A job-killing employer mandate, a budget-busting expansion of the Medicaid entitlement, and countless provisions that set Washington bureaucrats firmly between you and your doctor? Better believe it.

 

What about comprehensive lawsuit abuse reform and a ban on taxpayer funded abortion? Not surprisingly, those important items are still not in the bill.

 

There is one major and obvious difference between H.R. 3962 and H.R. 3200, however. At 1,990 pages, the new version is almost twice as long as the old one. H.R. 3962 has all the “government takeover” of H.R. 3200 with an extra thousand pages thrown into the mix. That’s a whole lot of government involved in personal, private health care decisions.

 

The American people want reforms that provide them with more choices, more competition, more innovation, higher quality, and lower costs. That’s the approach taken by the numerous patient-centered bills introduced by Republicans, including my own Empowering Patients First Act, H.R. 3400. Unfortunately, our ideas have been consistently and intentionally dismissed by the majority party.

 

But passage of this monstrosity is by no means certain. Though we expect a vote on this bill in the next week, there is still time to make your voice heard. Please forward this email to your friends, family, and co-workers. Get the word out and don’t delay. The future of American health care is in the balance, and we are on the clock.

A Muslim fanatic with an Internet site praising Islamic suicide bombers as defenders of their comrades is a Major in the U.S. Army with access to military intelligence and lethal weaponry. And it’s not as though the army didn’t know that he was a Muslim fanatic and supporter of the Islamic jihad against the West. He was under investigation for six months because of his anti-American, jihadist rantings. He did not want to be deployed. He wanted to be discharged.

But despite his identification with America’s enemies, the army kept him in its officer corps. How in God’s name was this possible? But it was. And so, after calling America the “aggressor” in Afghanistan and Iraq, this Muslim jihadist traitor army officer picks up his semi-automatic weapons and heads for the center at Ft. Hood where soldiers are being deployed to fight the jihadists in Afghanistan to conduct his massacre. Yet this morning the Fox News Channel chiron says “Investigators search for a motive in the Ft. Hood killings.” Is everybody out of their mind?

The Ft. Hood killings are the chickens of the left coming home to roost. Already the chief political correspondent of The Nation has decried even mention of the fact that the jihadist killer Hasan is a Palestinian Muslim. According to The Nation this  is “Islamophobia.” This fatuous attempt to protect America’s enemies carries on The Nation’s 60-year tradition as the leading fifth column collaborator with America’s enemies — defender of the Rosenbergs, defender of Hiss, defender of their boss Stalin, defender of Mao, defender of Castro and now defender of Islamic terrorists. But The Nation is only the tip of an iceberg. The fifth column formed out of the unholy alliance between radical Islam and the American left is now entrenched in the White House and throughout our government. And in matters like the Muslim jihadist Major Hasan our military is its captive.

The Fort Hood massacre is the first of the preventable atrocities we have been warning about on our websites since 9/11 — the atrocities which are apparently necessary for Americans to wake up to the threat that confronts us. We have a vast internal threat in this country in the form of this unholy alliance between the anti-American Left and radical Islam – whose Muslim Brotherhood network extends through our universities, our government and our military. It is “politically incorrect” to recognize this fact. You can be barred — as I have been — from speaking at universities for even talking about it. The embargo of discussion of the Islamo-fascist threat puts every American (including the infidel collaborators) at risk. Hasan had semi-automatic weapons. But they weren’t nuclear. That possibility is just around the corner unless we undergo a sea change in our attitudes and marshal the intelligence and the courage to recognize the threat.

Europe Dumps Democracy – Hudson New York

This is an interesting development in Europe that will have far reaching ramifications for the United States.  It is often and rightly said as history shows that so goes Europe goes the United States.  We can not seem to keep out of  their messes!   And this particular mess is the first step towards a one World Government and we will be pulled in one way or the other.  That is unless the individual European nations revolt.

How did this come about?  How was this done to the peoples of Europe ?  Well actually much like Obamanation came about in the United States: the people were too busy doing their little every day thing to watch what their governments were doing and so the evil infiltrated and took over.

The Czech Republic ceased to exist as a sovereign state when Vaclav Klaus, its president, put his signature under the Treaty of Lisbon at 3 pm November 3^rd, 2009. The Czech Republic was the last of the 27 member states of the European Union to ratify the treaty which turns the EU into a genuine state to which it members states are subservient.

The new European superstate, however, is not a democracy. It has an elected parliament, but the European Parliament has no legislative powers, nor does it control the EU’s executive bodies. The latter, who also have legislative power overriding national legislation, are made up of “commissioners.” These are appointed by the governments of the member states (although no longer with one commissioner per member state, as was the case so far, but with a total number capped at two-thirds of the number of member states). The EU is basically a cartel, consisting of the 27 governments of the member states, who have concluded that it is easier to pass laws in the secret EU meetings with their colleagues than through their own national parliaments in the glare of public criticism.

Like EU politics, Belgian politics is characterized by a lack of transparency, unaccountability, corporatism and a willingness to bend the democratic rules and legal procedures to allow the political establishment to proceed with their own project and secure the survival of a state which is unloved by its citizens but provides the livelihood of the ruling elite.

White Europeans, or native Europeans if you will, are now being squeezed out of existence literally.  their governments have sold out to One World Government and given up their national sovereignty and at the same time the Muslims are taking over their individual countries and turning them into Muslim states under sharia law.  By the end of this century if not much sooner there will be no Europe or  Europeans left.  BB

I don’t know one doctor, nurse or health care worker who is for the government run health care program.  Now I am only one person but I do know a fair share of medical personel and I have discussed this with them.   But you see, the AMA no more represents doctors than AARP represents the elderly or NEA National Education Association represents teachers.  All have evolved into businesses in and of themselves and and their sole goal is to perpetuate themselves so their leaders can pull down large salaries and glad hand with the elites in Washington from time to time.  All have forgotten their roots and just why their organization was originally formed.  AARP lost at last count 60,000 members just since July and I expect them to lose a whole lot more after this endorsement.

“Sadly, in the ongoing health care reform debate, the more things change, the more they stay the same. We could not support H.R. 3200, the ‘America’s Affordable Health Choices Act of 2009,’ which was introduced in the House last July and unfortunately, we must now oppose this new House bill too. It contains no significant changes or improvements when it comes to the issues we believe are vital for true health care reform in this country,” said AANS president Troy Tippett.

Some AMA members are upset that the association plowed forward with an endorsement ahead of their meeting this weekend in Houston. Also grumbling about the AMA’s endorsement are state medical associations in Ohio, Illinois, Texas, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and Florida, the official said.

Former AMA president Stormy Johnson is preparing a resolution to rescind the endorsement, sources said. And the surgeons are introducing a resolution that would call on the AMA to actively oppose any legislation that includes a public option or a temporary doc fix o

Senators Try to Exclude Illegal Immigrants from real problem with this one because it seems to me to be a no-brainer that illegal aliens should not be counted in our census which is used to determine Congressional districts  as well as a whole slew of federal grant  programs and funds based on population.   The debate reminds me of the 3/5 th. compromise our founding fathers made with the slave states!  But at least the slaves were here legally even if they weren’t allowed to vote or any other rights of citizenship.  and that was 1789 not 2009 which I would hope would be a bit more sane and sophisticated.  Well, perhaps sophisticated would work since Congressmen do seem to be more sophisticated  in the ways of graph, corruption and ripping off the American people.  BB

A controversial amendment that would require the Census Bureau to ask for the first time whether people are in the USA illegally is headed for a Senate vote Wednesday.

The amendment comes less than six months before 2010 Census questionnaires are mailed to 135 million households. About 425 million forms have already been printed, according to the bureau.

Proposed last week by Republican Sens. David Vitter of Louisiana and Bob Bennett of Utah, the amendment would exclude illegal immigrants from the population count used to allocate congressional seats after the 2010 Census. It also would require the Census to ask people whether they are citizens.

“Illegal aliens should not be included for the purposes of determining representation in Congress, and that’s the bottom line here,” Vitter says. If enacted, the amendment to an appropriations bill would stop funding of the 2010 Census unless the changes are made.

Senate Democrats have blocked a GOP attempt to require next year’s census forms to ask people whether they are a U.S. citizen.The proposal by Louisiana Republican Sen. David Vitter was aimed at excluding immigrants from the population totals that are used to figure the number of congressional representatives for each state. Critics said Vitter’s plan would discourage immigrants from responding to the census and would be hugely expensive. They also said that it’s long been settled law that the apportionment of congressional seats is determined by the number of people living in each state, regardless of whether they are citizens. A separate survey already collects the data.

The plan fell after a 60-39 procedural vote made it ineligible for attachment to a bill funding the census.
