And So I Go: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

Schools Brain-washing our Children goes on at Rapid Pace Thanks to White House Education Czar

Posted on: May 5, 2010

The Department of Education should NEVER have been started.  The federal Government has no business in educating our children, but the Progressives knew they needed to get the children in order to change our country.  First they infiltrated the Universities and trained the Progressive teachers to go out and brain-wash  our children.  This is no conspiracy theory people, this is fact.  I was in it and watching it happen and being helpless to stop it.  Social Studies instead of History and geography,  so-called NEW math that had children playing with blocks and balls to help them “see” the relationships rather than just plain learning the times tables. (this was so sad when students were seen adding up ten sets of balls  to get the answer to 10 x 10 =).  Then of course both God and the flag of our country were taken out of our schools in the name of “tolerance for all”.  Well here we are today with  brain-washed and horrendously uneducated teachers  being spurred on by the Communist in the White House using our tax dollars (Stimulus funds) to make little marching Red Shirts out of our children.

The Race to the Top program of Obama’s is so like him in that it says all the right things, but doesn’t do anything it says.  Instead money is poured into the schools when the nation is on the verge of bankruptcy and the teachers are urged to teach “values and tolerance for alternative life styles”, sing praises to The One  and  show films showing how only the federal government can help people and save them from the big bad banks and companies.  Oh yes, and Global Warming is still a heavy topic in Schools and saving the planet by going “green” even tho the whole thing has been found to be a scam.

…the federal government was taking over education. At least, it was moving a lot further in that direction, with Secretary of Education Arne Duncan wielding billions of “stimulus” dollars to coerce states to do Washington’s bidding. And that’s not just my take. It’s also the New York Times’:

Mr. Duncan is a man in a hurry. He has far more money to dole out than any previous secretary of education, and he is using it in ways that extend the federal government’s reach into virtually every area of education, from pre-kindergarten to college.

Race to the Top. SAFRA. National standards. For well over a year, we at the Center for Educational Freedom have issued warnings about all of these escalations of utterly unconstitutional federal power in education, but it has been nearly impossible to cut through all of the huge, non-education stories to get much notice.

Unfortunately, the hits just keep on coming. While the nation is fixated on oil in the Gulf of Mexico and the supposed evils of Wall Street, the administration continues to change the constantly moving target that is the Race to the Top program, now essentially offering individual districts in California a chance to compete in RTTT round two. This despite states explicitly being identified as THE competitors in the current RTTT. It almost makes you conclude that you just can’t trust anything you’re told about RTTT by the administration, and that there is no good reason for any state to expect a fair race.

Thankfully, there is some good news to report. According to the Times, the ever-expansive Department of Education is now about as popular as the tax man — but not quite:

A new survey by the Pew Research Center found distrust of government at its highest level in 30 years. Of all federal agencies, the department of education’s approval rating had fallen most sharply, to 40 percent from 61 percent in 1998. In fact, the department got the lowest rating of any federal agency, including the Internal Revenue Service.

And that is with ED operating largely under the radar. Imagine if people actually knew what Duncan and company were doing!

Brenda,

What does RITT mean? I’ve heard of it but don’t know what it means.

Snappy

RttT Means Race to the Top.

Oh yes, and the Stimulus money was also used to keep the School Administration stuffed with over paid do nothings. Guilford County NC could easily fire half of the administrators and still keep going with not even a ripple. In fact, things might even go better because the teachers and schools would not have so damned much paper work generated by these administrators in order to show they are doing something! BB
