Restoring Honor in America
Posted August 27, 2010on:
For those who can not, like me, be at the Lincoln Memorial Restoring Honor to America rally I hope you will join me in prayer for our country. We need God if we are to save ourselves and our nation. We need to return to decency and honor and charity and love. He will save us if we sincerely ask Him. The Bible has several passages where God asked for “just men” and promised for these He would save the city or the country. Remember Jeremiah 5:1 Run – God gives leave to all the earth to look into the state of Jerusalem, by which he vindicates himself in the face of the whole world from all severity towards his people, whatever he brings upon them. In the broad places – Even there, where men meet from all quarters. A man – It seems worse than Sodom and Gomorrah, for God condescends to pardon Jerusalem, if there be but one righteous man found in it; there he came no lower than ten. A man might walk the streets of Jerusalem long enough before he could meet with any one truly religious. Executeth – Among the magistracy. Seeketh – Among the commonalty, that deal faithfully and uprightly.
And there were other times God spoke and asked for but a few just and honorable beings then promised He would show mercy to all for the sake of these few:
Genesis 18:26 So the LORD said, “If I find in Sodom fifty righteous within the city, then I will spare the whole place on their account.”
Genesis 18:32 Then he said, “Oh may the Lord not be angry, and I shall speak only this once; suppose ten are found there?” And He said, “I will not destroy it on account of the ten.”
2 Chronicles 16:9 “For the eyes of the LORD move to and fro throughout the earth that He may strongly support those whose heart is completely His. You have acted foolishly in this. Indeed, from now on you will surely have wars.”
Ezekiel 22:30 “I searched for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand in the gap before Me for the land, so that I would not destroy it; but I found no one.
I hope that when that day comes I, Brenda Bowers, can be found to be standing with the just. I really don’t know that I can or will because I have done, said and believed some very wrong things in my lifetime that have hurt and harmed others. All I can say in my defense with all sincerity is that I stood with my beliefs of what was “right”. I have lost jobs, friends and even family when my principles and beliefs were not in accordance with theirs, and I would not compromise if compromising required me to accept what I felt was wrong. I was never one to “go along to get along”. God did not grant me life on this Earth to just “go along”. BB
