And So I Go: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

briefly on me

**********************************************************************

briefly me

my email address is:    brendafay2410@yahoo.com

My passion is …blogging at this time. But I have always been passionately involved in what I am doing at any given time in my life.
I know too much about …Nothing! Nothing at all. There is always a new shinning treasure to find even when walking pathways you have walked before.
My parents always told me …My first word was “Why”. And nothing has changed over 66 years so I suppose my last word on Earth and my first word in Heaven will be “Why” too.My childhood ambition …Never had an ambition. My son came to me when he was 18 and had just graduated from high school and told me he didn’t know what he wanted to do so he was going into the Army. I assured him that was okay because at age 46 neither did I know what I wanted to be when I grew up.  And since I suppose now at 20 years later it is a little late in the game to get an “ambition”, so will just creep along with arthritic knees  the way I have been going.

My favorite memory …Have you a week or two to listen?

Why I write …It’s fun. And I have so much I want to say, so much I want to teach the young about what I have learned so they may not make the same mistakes. And they needn’t fear learning from me and not making the mistakes I made because there will still be many left that can be theirs alone.

What I am reading/watching/listening to …newspapers and blogs from everywhere. The Internet has opened the world to me!  Listening to my favorite music which like everything else in my life is changeable depending on  my mood since I seem to “favor” all genre.   Don’t watch TV much.  Watched “Peter, Paul and Mary”  on PBS tonight and had to dust the screen off to see the picture!  haven’t seen a movie since I walked out after five minutes of “Born on the 4th. of July”  because I can not abide four letter words.

When not reading news I like the old classics, biographies and  factoids during the day.  I really do read a lot!   Always have had a book somewhere close at hand.

Oh yes, after starting my day with all that serious stuff I like to end it with a nice romance novel. No one getting killed and no greedy cheating and lying, and always a happy ending.  The authors have to be able to tell a good story however, I won’t read just anything.  Norah Roberts and Debbie McComber, Fern Michaels and Judith McNaught to name a few favorites.

If asked to name but two of my very favorite authors I would have to say James Michener and Leon Uris for fiction.  Philosophy would be a man you may not have even heard of since he was an elderly northern European transplant to America named Eric Hoffer.  His “The Passionate State of Mind”  gives one  more challenging thoughts than any other philosopher I was forced to study  in college where naturally Eric Hoffer did not make the cut.  Harry Truman, Will Rogers, Winston Churchill  and Samuel Clemens  have also offered me much philosophical enjoyment  as well as intellectual stimulation.  I name them as “one” because I would have difficulty saying which one I like the most after, a long ways after, Eric Hoffer.  Last is poetry and no one compares in my mind to Rod McKuen who did not just write pretty words making pretty thoughts, but opened his soul and let all the joy and hurt and love pour out in his writing.

My first job was my own business.  I took orders for Christmas cards when out of school in the summer and then made deliveries in November just in time to get out for Christmas.  I did this from age 8 to age 15.  My second job (aged 11 -14) was being the newspaper delivery person in my village  where all 67  homes ordered a paper from me.  So rain or shine, sleet or snow I walked up and down the hillsides tossing a newspaper on everyone’s porch.   The Thursday paper was the heaviest as it contained the most advertising requiring that I make three trips back to the pick up point to refill my paper bag and start out again.  I was one of only 3 girls delivering newspapers for the Steubenville, Ohio Herald Star.

My best moment …here and now. This is why I call my blog: And So I Go: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow.  Life has been so very interesting for me.  I had tragedies and joys, but never boredom.  Would I live any of it over if I could?  Never!  I enjoy today, but am also impatient to see Tomorrow.

My inspiration …. sun in the morning and the moon at night, and everything made by God that their light shines upon.  I only have four things to which I am intolerant: cruelty, brutality, stupidity and willful ignorance.  All else is a joy to discover and explore.  Have you ever studied a dandelion up close and personal?  Once you have seen a dandelion and learned it’s qualities who could possibly prefer a rose?

Givem hell Brenda!

Funny you should use that phrase. You see, I have always been a great fan of President Harry Truman. I feel at some point in history he will be seen as one of our greatest presidents. He is still hanging in the shadow of Franklin Roosevelt whom the nation will discover instead of being the savior people thought him to be was really the one who began the downfall of the American spirit. Truman tried to bring it back, Eisenhower was littler more than a place holder, Kennedy like Truman tried to bring it back and Johnson lit the final match. Americans have been becoming less mature and self-reliant as they slide down the slope towards socialism since.

Oh I forgot to mention somethings above: 1) give me an opening and off I go, and 2) I never use one word when I can make ten words do. BB

Since you seem to say you question everything with Why? Then WHY would you not research the migration and refugee assistance act that the out going president Bush did sign on April 29, 2005 call Presidential Determination 2005-23 for $34.7 million for the West Bank, Gaza, Burundi and the Democractic Congo. Then go and check out the Presidential Determination 2007-19 dated May 10, 2007also for Somalia, Sudan, Chad, West Bank and Gaza. Donn’t all these countries have muslim extremist in them that wish death to us American. If you are up on your fact you would know that Somalia is being run by Muslim extremist with connections to Al Qaida and this was your Republican president who signed off on that. Since then have we seen our borders flooded with immigrants from these countries? NO. Because we are giving them humanitarian aid within there own countries not importing them here. So I would suggest before you blog in the future on a subject you haven’t fully researched you shouldn’t blog at all. Unless of course ignorance is bliss. But the Truth will set you Free.

Brenda, I am a South African, living in South Africa with one of my sons and having a son and daughter who emigrated with their families to the USA. We were lucky enough to have visited them several times since their departure and I like to listen to all the sides of the political spectre of your country. I find you comments very interesting and would like to get your blogs regularly.
Where do I sign up for it?
Thank you.

To Matilda’s Mom from Elaine’s Mom, Thank you for your interest in my daily rants and opinions. I am honored. The best way to see what I am up to is to add my site to your blogroll and click in at your leisure.
https://brendabowers.wordpress.com will bring you right to my site. And the name of my site is : And So I Go: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow

I have been asked about setting up regular emails of my blog, but I personally find my email box too full because I find sites I like and sign up for the emails and then don’t have time on a daily basis to read them all. Then I start deleting sites. I don’t want to intrude on others so that is why I simply ask that I be put on their blogroll. thank you again for your interest. Sincerely, Brenda Bowers

Brenda-how are you and family doing? Thanks for visiting my blog: http://familyliferesources.wordpress.com/. Glad you find it enjoyable as much as I did for family matters attracted me since I was married about 2 years ago. Well, think I love your blog, particularly ones talking about Mr. President Obama. He has dozens of fans in my country as he was spending his childhood years in the capital city.

I added you to my blogroll. I placed you on the right after reading several of your posts but should you desire one of my other 2 categories let me know!

Brenda…I need to contact you regarding a special project I’m working on…shoot me an e-mail so we can talk offline.

Brenda,

You wouldn’t happen to be related to Peggy Bowers that lived in Alamogordo, NM in 1960 would you? I believe that her father was in the Air Force at the base outside of Alamogordo.

No. I am from West Virginia and my maiden name was Morris. My husband is from New England with roots in Canada.

A funny story I know you will appreciate: If you google Brenda Bowers you will find there is a Brenda Bowers in NC who is an attorney. It seems one of her clients logged onto my blog and had a fit that his attorney would have such views. He contacted her and immediately wanted to withdraw his account. Since she knew about me she showed him my site again and then clicked on the Briefly on me to prove the outrageous Brenda Bowers was not the attorney Brenda Bowers. 🙂 BB

I thought you might be related somehow. Peggy was a beautiful young lady in my high school, and I had a mad crush on her. Oh, well…

I love your blog. Simply.

Frank, I thank you. Simply. BB

I love how you describe yourself! Honesty! Wow! I never know what to say but know I have a lot to say too.
Love to write but think no one wants to listen.

I am getting ready to explore the rest of your blog now! 😉 I can’t wait to see it!

You have a wonderful time and keep on living!!!!!!

Dear Breet, Hey get with it! Some one will listen I promise. Heck, they are reading me aren’t they? Just register your blog with some good aggregators so people can find you and then write about what interests you most.

I hope you are not disappointed with my blog. It has changed over the course of 4 years. I began doing more or less commentaries on what I was thinking at the time. Granted most of them were rather political because I have always been an opinionated political animal.

I changed to my current form of referring news articles and commenting on them when Obama became the Democrats presidential candidate. That man scared the beegeez out of me and I was afraid that he could take McCain.

Since his election I am more than frightened. People have asked just how much damage can he do in 4 years. My answer: just look at what he has done in five short months. This man, his administration and the Democrat controlling Congress are totally out of control and I have no idea how to stop them. All I can do at this arthritic point in my life is try to keep people informed and keep emailing my Congressmen. So I am doing what I can for the country I love. Maybe I care so much because my grandparents influence so much of my early life and they loved America. They gave up everything to come here in 1910 from Russia.

Thank you for stopping by. BB

Hello Brenda Bowers;

How has the Ozark weather been lately? I’ll bet it’s been hot and humid?

Terrific Citizen, I have no idea how the Ozark weather is since I am in North Carolina Piedmont east of the Great Smoky Mountains. Was born in west Virginia west of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Have traveled as a full time RVer all over North America for 11 years and therefore have driven over and around most all mountain chains. so I can say in all honesty that the Ozarks are lovely any time of the year.

I feel however this was not your question Terrific Citizen; I feel it was your way of calling me a red neck hill billy. You are right on the money with that assessment Darlin’! BB

Brenda, send me your email address

You sound like the woman I hope to be 15 years from now. Very directed in my lack of direction, and passionate about viewing the green side of the lawn every morning 🙂

🙂 Thank you much! I am also a bit of a brown thumb gardener so I know how to look at and acknowledge the “dirt” and try to control the “weeds”, but I love best just sitting and watching my flowers bloom. BB

Thanks for the Great place to come and express our freedom of expressions and thoughts !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your welcome Hungry. I know people sometimes want to say something that is not a blog topic and I WANT TO READ IT. so i thought to start this page. It really does get attention too as I can tell from my blog stats. But it is the next page over : BLOGGER CONVERSATIONS AND COMMENTS. 🙂 BB

Brenda Bowers, Cleo Powers. Now I’m awondering!
Just came across your site & I think your all lovely!
Its nice to see a blog thats up to date. see you around Brenda if’n your in the Tulsa area sometimes.

I just discovered your blog. Appreciate your comments about Harry Truman. I’ve always thought he was the last real person to occupy the Oval Office. He never seemed to be concerned with what others thought about him and always spoke his mind even when Bess & Margaret were sometimes embarrassed.

Thirstytarheel, Welcome to my site. I am a Conservative Independent and like my favorite President I do indeed speak my mind. This blog is dedicated to keeping my readers informed of what is going on as best I can in a world gone mad. So much is happening so fast it is almost impossible to keep up. I welcome comments and even have a site ( Pages at top right hand column for just Conversation with Bloggers if you just want to vent your own views on something I haven’t blogged about.) 🙂 BB

Cleo Powers, Welcome to my blog. Was in Tulsa area when my husband and I were full time RVers. Unfortunately I had the flu that week so saw very little before we moved on. BB

I’ve been reading a book on Will Rogers and its uncanny how over 80 percent of his observations/jokes about government, politics, people, etc are as timely and funny today as they were when he made them in the twenties and thirties of the last century. I’m not sure whether or not this is due to Will being ahead of his time or the fact that things just don’t change as much as we think.

TT

Will Rogers, Samuel Clemens and Harry Truman are timeless in their wisdom. Of course so was Socrates! Which I suppose only shows that men don’t change, and as governments are made up of the more criminal minded of men then governments don’t change much either. The only thing different with today from yesterday is that more of “we the people” have been occupied elsewhere as our freedoms were being taken away one by one by one until all that is needed is one final push into tyranny. The Internet ( the people’s news network) came about just in time for us to perhaps save ourselves for another generation or two. Maybe. BB

I have written a book (498 pages) for your consideration exposing the truth and very grave danger posed to all freedom loving peoples by Islam.

My mother – in – law’s best friend’s son (25 years) who worked at the Twin Towers had a day off from work scheduled for 9/11. Late at night 9/10, he received a call from an associate who had taken ill and asked if he wouldn’t mind covering the next day and in return he would trade his day off the following week. He left for work at 6:00 am on September 11 and was dead by 9:30 am. There must be dozens of stories just like this one.

This young man and the 2,972 were murdered so their 19 Muslim killers who “fight in the way of Allah and shall slay and be slain” could ascend to Paradise. Indeed, the only way Muslim men can be guaranteed accession to Paradise is to slay or be slain in the service of God.

Read the book for the brutal reality of this very evil ideology.

Sincerely,

Jake

Jake, I have been watching the Muslim population in the United States and elsewhere for years. They are brutal and any person who follows that religion of hate is to my mind less than human. I have read their Koran from cover to cover and I wonder if the Muslim population who are literate have read their own holy book. If so how can they tell me theirs is a religion of love and peace?

My site is not the right place for your book. I try to get the news of everything that is a possible threat to Americans on my site for my readers information. Jihad is just one of my topics. Below is a list of sites (bloggers) who specialize in watching Muslims and they may be interested in your book or perhaps in advertising your book on their site for a fee. I don’t do any advertising either. These are all heavily read sites and the readers of these sites are particularly interested in jihad information.

On the list below you will find them all on my right hand column starting with Pages. Click on the names and it will take you directly to their sites. Or you may want to google them for more information on them before contacting.

Thank you for stopping by and I hope you will continue to visit and perhaps comment when you wish on some of my posts. Sincerely, Brenda Bowers

“Eventually he made a demo tape and was hired by KGO, a San Francisco station” (NY Times Article 12-17-2007)

Hi Michael,

Let me start off by saying that My English Teacher was the one and only Bill O’Reilly from FOX News, yes indeed, Bill taught at “Monsignor Edward Pace HS” in Miami, Fla. Check it out if you don’t believe me, or let me know if you need to see his picture in my 1973 Pace yearbook!

Now that I have your attention, my girlfriend Cathy is an avid listener of your show and she read an article about your life and the “Demo Tape” statement above came from that article. Cathy has always told me that I had a great radio voice as well as sense of humor, political insight (ex- City Councilman)and excellent communication skills. All this remains to be seen and if I never get a response from you then I will have to assume that my sweet Cathy is blinded to my Illusions of Grandeur.

Any way back to your making a Demo Tape, I love that approach and would like to emulate that approach and I was wondering if you would take a few minutes out of your busy and hectic day of trying to dodge gun / pun bullets, if you could give me a brief tip that would help me get a step in the right direction (Who and How to go about getting some radio station to even view it much less see the God Given potential within, LOL! )

I really don’t expect to hear back from you as you probably receive Millions of these type of emails and much worse, but I promised Cathy I would give it a try!

Keep up the good work and don’t ever let anyone stop you from Telling it Like it IS!!!

Thanks and regards,

I don’t know the significance of the previous post other than the blurb at the beginning from the NY Times referring to “he” (I’m assuming its Ron Montanez). And I am assuming the Michael he wrote to advised him how to get into radio. If I’m right, it’s a great story. Heck its a great story if I’m not right. FYI: KGO is a legendary San Francisco AM station operating on 810 KHZ with 50,000 watts. Is Ron Montanez a name I should know? He could be very well known on the radio and I’m not aware of him. Given the sorry state of affairs of the broadcasting community in the Triad area of North Carolina, where I live, I no longer listen to the radio

Well, there are times when I don’t get the significance of some of the comments on my site either. the one you are referring to I took to really be meant for my post on the Michael Savage Home page and to have been addressed to Michael Savage. Some people have mistaken my reference post as his site and left him messages there.

I don’t listen to much radio or watch much TV anymore since I get my news from the Internet. I do however much deplore the state of our news sheets here in Greensboro. The N&R is not even good for fish wrap anymore because on most days there simply isn’t enough of it to wrap even a small fish. I stopped reading it months ago but at 72 my husband just can not give up his morning paper with his morning coffee so we still pay the so-and-sos for stringing words together.

Jordan Green’s rag is full of outright lies and innuendos. The Rhino does seem to come near the truth but it is from Johns’ perspective. I have watched City Council meetings and then read his report of the proceedings and wondered which one of us spent the most time in the potty room because I sure didn’t hear/see what he heard and saw. At least, not from his angle The Rhino is however the most entertaining so I read it from cover to cover.

I really rely on the blogs for my information—there are several very good ones. BB

Brenda, it’s good to be in touch with another older woman who’s not finished by a long shot.

I’ve been very actively involved in growing an activist group of citizens in Moore County, NC. We’ve gone from 3 of us in February ’09 to almost 1,000 today. We’ve had 1,000 at the small town post office in Southern Pines, we march in parades, sign people up at the Holly Festival in Pinehurst, and we’ve traveled to Washington several times, most memorably on 9/12. We go to Raleigh, and we let our fingers do the walking by making CITIZEN CELL phone calls, like tomorrow! Groups gather here and there to talk about what we do, growing our MOORE TEA CITIZENS organization daily.

We have a blog, http://www.mooretea.wordpress.com. Take a look and plan to come to see us – we’d love to welcome you to Moore County for a visit and a Town Hall. Join us!

Cheers,

I went to your site and read the posts. This is fantastic! This is what it is going to take people all over America doing if we the people are to get the Congressmen’s attention. Congress can if they will turn back the tide on our government’s take over. These elected officials can if they will rescind all the laws they have enacted that are contrary to our Constitution. There are some who care not that the power they are garnering for themselves will enslave their children; But there are others who do care and who will look beyond their own petty needs to control and see what lies ahead after they are gone and who will think of what it will be for their children then with others in power.

Short of Congress acting it will take people like you forcing the issue. It may even come to a second violent revolution tho I pray not.

I am so happy to see what you have done and are doing and wish I could physically join you. However I am to the point where my body is finally giving in to the scoliosis and consequent arthritis that has been trying to defeat me most of my life. All I can do now is blog and try in my humble way to keep my readers informed as to just what the federal government is doing. It is a challenge keeping up because they are attacking our rights on so many fronts at the same time. And they are especially good at putting up smoke scenes to divert our attention from what is actually going on behind the screens. Looking behind the screens and reporting is what I can do and have set as my share of this fight against the country I love. BB

Brenda. I live faraway from you and although brought up in a christian faith, I live in, by choice, a muslim country.I thought, after reading some of your thoughts, we could exchanged a couple of ideas on our motivation. I found your philosopy refreshing, almost unique and very similar to mine. I tried your www address but to no avail. If you would care to compare ideas and thoughts let me know, perspective is all in the shading.
Rob Smallwood.

Rob, Would love to share some ideas with you!

If you will go to my blog site https://brendabowers.wordpress.com and at the very top you will see a page I have set aside for “blogger Conversations and comments” if you just have something you want to say that is not related to one of my posts. I will get back with you and it is surprising how many hits that particular page gets.

If your comment has to do with a particular post please use the comments on that post for any dialog.

I believe you will find as you read my post that I have no respect or kind thoughts for anyone who follows Islam. My dislike is from personal experience as well as the teachings of their religion. Any human who could follow such a religion of hate is to me a sub-human creature. If you are a Christian I don’t know how you can be living peacefully in a Muslim country. Christians from what I have been reading in news papers all over the world are being targeted more and more in Muslim dominated countries. Do take care.

I personally am a believer in reincarnation and therefore do not concur with any particular religious sect. I personally feel they are all good with the exception of Islam and Voodoo and Satan worship. A believe in the Creator and acting in harmony and love with all mankind is all that is necessary to advance to an eventual reunion with the Creator so the particular name of the religion or church they follow simply is of no importance.

Hope to hear from you soon. sincerely, Brenda Bowers BB

Enjoy your incisive musings. Keep it up. You might like reading the New Criterion.

Thank you Robert for your comment and your suggestions. I always enjoy finding new blogs. Unfortunately there aren’t enough hours in the day for me to read all the great stuff that is available on the Net. This has to be the greatest invention in my time and I have seen a whole lot of fantastic things since 1941. But the Internet is the peoples newspaper, towncrier, lifeline to each othe; and the Internet is what is going to save America’s freedoms. BB

John, thank you for visiting my site and making your statement. The fact is that I am aware of what previous administrations have done and I have been opposed to this for many years.

The reason we do not have the Muslim hordes on our borders is because they are crossing the borders of the European countries where they have found the governments to be more willing to allow them their own governments within the countries they have infiltrated.

And John, the truth has set me free. The number of readers I have visiting my site on a daily basis will keep me blogging and trying to get the truth out there. Sincerely, Brenda Bowers

Wow, you sound alot like me. I’ve never been able to tell what I want to be when I grow up and I’m in my 50s.

Also, like you, I like to learn, learn, learn. I also love books. One year, I read 65 fiction books in one year, mostly from the New York Times bestseller list.

This year, I’ve been into non-fictional conservative or economic political books. Those you can see at my “Books to Read” page on my blog.

I look forward to reading your articles.

Thank you Jackie. I read approximately 3 books a week (2 fiction and one non fiction) but you know I learn a great deal from the fiction also. It all depends on how good the author is about doing research. I threw a book across the room a couple weeks ago and my husband asked why I did that. I was mad at the author because the story was good, the writing was good but she hadn’t done her homework and did not use the vernacular in her dialog for the time period she was in. She was using 20th century slang in the 11th century. Another one that gets me is if they use dates and a character is 10 years old and ten years later the same character has suddenly become 30 years old. I hate silly mistakes like that and even if they are silly and everything else is good I can not continue to read the book..

A friend once told me to simply red pencil them since I had been a teacher. I tried that but it didn’t work. LOL I’m a nut job at times. However there are so many good authors out there. I seldom buy new books and due to my arthritis I can only hold paper backs so I get most of my books from the trading libraries at the local library or send for them at Better World of Books

Paint ball I am ‘up on my facts” and if you care to read some of my posts on these topic (contents are listed at the bottom of home page) you will see that you are telling me nothing I don’t know. It has been going on for decades now thru several president, it is merely accelerating under Obama just as everything designed to destroy America is accelerating under Obama. BB

I’ve just read your informal biograghy and was surprised and pleased to see you are a person of some knowledge and self-reflection. Maybe its my liberal bias,( I’m a Canadian from the province that brought Universal heathcare to the world). If you ever read the story of how Rev. Douglas fought so hard for this and how vehement was the Medical communities resistance- even to the point of the death of some patients- you might understand that not all Liberals have character defects or are lacking somehow in common sense. After reading your lovely bio I have to say I feel like you’re someone I would like if I met you in some non-political setting. I admire and respect your deepest views on life and living. I guess what I don’t understand is how someone with such an open mind and humble spirit can appear to be so ideological. I find myself often disagreeing with friends and family who are Liberals like me so I tend to think others who are really thinking people should tend to behave likewise. How, as a matter of fact coud you enjoy Peter, Paul and Marry and their fire-brand Liberalism. Even I thought that they were sadly naive about the world and how they could change it. Starry eyed idealists. I love that they were but you have to admit even Obama would blush at their vision of “change” for America. That said, I wonder what it is that you enjoyed (if you weren’t just watching to reaffirm an already held view) about these hippies. Anyway, I don’t want to monopolize your time so I’ll finish up by asking why you feel it’s necessary to tear down Obama at every time over every thing. Sometimes even Hitler was asleep when a bad thing happened. You say we need to “wake up”. I agree we do. When I really think about it I know there’s so much more to understand. I still have alot of waking up to do. The more I learn the more I realize how little I know. But how could I ever teach people my strong views on everything with that attitude?

Yeah! – Tommy Douglas, the Socialist clergyman from Saskatchewan who’s responsible for (most) of the worlds Healcare Systems is actually Keiffer Sutherlands grandfather. Don’t believe me? Wikapedia! And whats more – so what!

Universal health care doesn’t work as is now so evident by the failure of the Europeans and yes, even Canada’s system. I follow Canadian news and it is my understanding that your government is moving more and more to a free market private health care delivery system. I do know for a fact the Canadian government is sending moire and more people to American hospitals for treatment.

The European countries are also moving away from their government sponsored health care systems as fast as they can. I read news papers from all over the world just to keep up because what happens in Europe has a profound effect on the United States eventually.

As for being a liberal, well I was a rabid liberal in my youth. Then I grew up and realized that when government controls our lives then freedom is gone. controlling our health care is one sixth of our economy! As for Obama I have questioned his background (what we know of it!) from the moment he beat our Hillary for the Democrats nomination. Hear again Terry I refer you to my Categories and invite you to read and learn. Most all of my post are referenced and I check everything I can out for factual truthfulness.

And thank you for your kind words. I sorry you can not understand that I can be and am a loving person who cares deeply for my fellow human beings. I also believe that it is my right to give my money and time as I personally want to give them and where I personally see a need. I do not like the government and a bunch of wasteful high salaried bureaucrats taking my money in taxes and then deciding where it should go. BB

Brenda,
If I was more assured that most conservatives were as well read and fair-minded as I understand you to be, I might feel better about the fact that the future is in your hands. We liberals are not likely to be in favor for a long time, and I have no illusions about that. I guess I should trust more in the goodness of people. The most vulnerable people in America as well as Canada have always been better taken care of than those of most other countries, despite the politcal affiliation of the government in power. It seems to me that’s unlikely to change very much so let’s see how things go with a new President and Congress come 2012. My complaint of Obama was that he was simply too weak. He won’t be remembered as “great” nor should he be. The fact he was given such such positive media attention says only good things about the American people (he was a symbol of the American Dream writ large) and his story for most had little to do with Socialism or big government. Regardless, the future is Conservative red and I for one am not afraid or contemptful. When I find I am I’ll try to recognize it as a sign of being human.

Terry, I send you a smile and join my hopes with yours for a better future for our children. Brenda

Steubenville?

I’ve been there several times. Dean Martin and all that.

Yes Steubenville and Dean Martin and them guys. I took clarinet lessons from Dean’s best buddy while in school, Harry Greenberg. HE was one of those interviewed when they did a special on Dean Martin’s life. Of course Wellsburg was my home. BB

Hi Brenda,

I happened to find your blog last year but got busy with founding 912 Super Seniors and lost track of many things for awhile. I was happy to see your blog listed on Tea Party Patriots website.

You continue to have a wonderful commentary and selection of topics and articles.

From one Buckeye to another ( having lived in NY for 40 years I remain proud of my Buckeye heitage) please visit us at 912 Super Seniors.

Barbara

Thank you Barbara I certainly will, and being a super senior already at 69 I should fit right in. 🙂 BB

Do you recall in three years ago when Paulson drew took the beast by the horns and basically declared “If Congress don’t accept to pass this bail out, the market will explode?” Ironically, that made it unevitable for the market to burst when Congress stopped to go along. Obama gave a shot to a similar move last weekend with the threat of a weekend time limit but the oposition didn’t think much and called his bluff. Now it probably wont be the same if this next deadline is not respected.

You lost me, buddy. I mean, I suppose I get what youre saying. I get where youre coming from. But you just seem to have forgotten that there are people out there who can see this issue for what it really is and may not agree with you. You seem to alienate a whole bunch of people who might have been fans of your blog.

The United States is really composed of a bunch of little countries. It is really neat to see how there are different rules in each state and how each of them keep order. I am surprised that there isn’t more arguing between states but I think someday there will be. There is too much pride in each one for horrible things not to happen some day. It might not be a bad idea to just have one law for all states instead of them being able to make their own. Thoughts?

When I at first commented I clicked the -Notify me when new remarks are added- checkbox and now each time a comment is additional I get four emails together with the identical comment. Is there any signifies you perhaps can get rid of me from that service? Many thanks!

I am sorry that you are being annoyed by the emails, I certainly would be too. but I have no idea how to stop them for you. Sorry. BB

Hello. fantastic job. I did not anticipate this. This is a splendid story. Thanks!

It’s very frightening what’s going on with the London riots but the unappealing truth is we could well look back on these times with some nostalgia as things get worse. Right now it seems to be just youngsters out there ‘protesting’ but as the police and political responses become increasingly hysterical and overbearing – special powers aren’t needed, just maintain the already present laws – you’ll soon have Mr & Mrs Middle Class out there in the streets looting and burning. Who will the authorities have to blame? No-one but themselves.

Everyone complains about the Government doing nothing, but in reality it’s us doing nothing. If the cizitens of this country would make a stand and make a demand for what is right then things would finally change. It’s tiring listening about what’s incorrect with our country without action. Stand up for what you believe in.

There are certainly a number of particulars like that to take into consideration. That could be a nice level to carry up. I supply the ideas above as basic inspiration however clearly there are questions just like the one you convey up where an important factor can be working in sincere good faith. I don?t know if finest practices have emerged round things like that, but I am positive that your job is clearly recognized as a fair game. Both girls and boys feel the influence of only a second’s pleasure, for the remainder of their lives.

Great Article…

I’ve been to a lot of national parks down under but the Grampians takes the cake. So relaxing and quiet. Halls Gap is an intimate town with welcoming people. Halls Gap is in the middle of the region and has every amenity we needed when I visited. I’ll be back. The area around Halls Gap also features hidden peaches. I’m not talking the larger towns but places like Dunkeld. Lovely and full of character. I appreciate the work you’ve done in putting your blog together.

Admirable work and much success in your business dealings!  Please excuse my poor English as it is not my first tongue.

What youre saying is completely true. I know that everybody must say the same thing, but I just think that you put it in a way that everyone can understand.

Watched Cowboys and Aliens with James Bond’s Daniel Craig? It’s a great idea mashing up space alien futurism with the two-fisted macho world that was the old West – but the idea’s been done before with Buffy’s James Marsters in High Plains Invaders. True!

Good info. I reached on your website by accident, so thanks.

Couldn?t be written any better. Reading this post reminds me of my old room mate! He always kept talking about this. I will forward this article to him. Pretty sure he will have a good read. Thanks for sharing!

You really allow it to be seem so easy along with your powerpoint presentation but I obtain this particular subject matter to become genuinely something which I do believe I would personally by no means understand. It appears to be as well complicated and incredibly extensive to me. I am impatient for your upcoming post, I can attempt to get the hang of the item!

this is a very nice article. I will to analyse this a little more.

What do you think of the injustice done to Joe Paterno and Bishop Finn in Missouri?

Hi, Brenda! You’re never going to guess who this is!!!! Sitting next to me is your “old” friend (just having turned 79 two days ago), Carol …. wait for it….. Kimberlin!!!!!!

This is Karen…you may remember me. Anyway, I was giving her a lesson on blogging …, because I write blogs for a living for others (and my own, as well). She knew you had one, and so we looked you up!

Your blog looks great…and it’s obvious you love doing it!

We just wanted to say “hi” and let you know she was thinking about you. Carry on…and enjoy your tomorrow!

All the best,

Carol and Karen

Karen, of course I remember you Dear. Your Mother has kept me up on the news of you and your lovely children all these years. Of course I remember them all best as children so it is wonderful to follow their lives as adults.
So you write blogs. Great. I do very much enjoy this although I am not as active as I once was. Getting old and slowing down! Just comment now when I think there is something not being covered by the news and that my readers should know.
Loved hearing from you. I will look up your blog too. BB

I’m impressed, I have to admit. Rarely do I come across a blog that’s both equally educative and
entertaining, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on the head.
The issue is something that too few people are speaking intelligently about.
Now i’m very happy that I came across this in my hunt for something regarding this.

Thank you! I am just an often caustic, always opinionated Old Broad who loves my country and hates what has been happening to it for most of my life time (72 years). I have watched in horror as the United States and many Americans moved from a proud independent hard working striving people to a lazy bunch of bums with their hands out for someone else’s money. I watched education (my field by the way) go from educating to brain-washing. I tried to raise my voice against all this but really didn’t have a good tool to use until now. We the People have the “peoples’ voice” which is the Internet and I use it as best I can. There are so many more who are so much better than I am so do go to the right hand column of my blog for information in many areas about America’s enemies and our problems as well as possible solutions and heroes. Sincerely, Brenda Bowers
