>> This is the best! Republican Study Committee (RSC) Health Care Reform Proposal

Republican Study Committee (RSC) – The Caucus of House Conservatives

I have referred to this Health Care Reform Proposal several times.  In my opinion this is the reform bill Congress should pass.  It fixes what needs fixed in our system and will not create a whole new huge bureaucracy or put the burden of paying for it on our grandchildren.

See what you think.  Click on the  the short summary or the Detail Summary or see the entire bill by clicking on them in the Additional Information area at the bottom green area.   Please leave a comment and let me know what you think of this bill.  BB

The Republican Study Committee has introduced H.R. 3400, the Empowering Patients First Act. H.R. 3400 would: 1) make access to coverage affordable for all Americans; 2) make coverage truly owned and controlled by the patient; 3) improve the health care delivery structure; and 4) rein in out-of-control costs, including robust liability reform.

Putting Patients First!

RSC Chairman Tom Price has introduced H.R. 3400, the Empowering Patients First Act.  This is another positive solution from the Republican Study Committee that grants access to affordable, quality health care for all Americans, and is centered around the patient.  By increasing patients’ control over their health decisions, we will make coverage more affordable, accessible and responsive, while offering more choices and the highest-quality care.

This solution is centered around four main principles:

#1:  Access to Coverage for All Americans

  • The Empowering Patients First Act makes the purchase of health care financially feasible for all Americans, covers pre-existing conditions, protects employer-sponsored insurance, and shines light on existing health care plans.

#2:  Coverage is Truly Owned by the Patient

  • This legislation grants greater choice and portability to the patient, and also gives employers more flexibility in the benefits offered.  It also expands the individual market by creating several pooling mechanisms.

#3:  Improve the Health Care Delivery Structure

  • Physicians know the best care for their patient.  That’s why this legislation establishes doctor-led quality measures, ensuring that you get the quality care you need.  It also reimburses physicians to ensure the stability of your care, and encourages healthier lifestyles by allowing employers to offer discounts for healthy habits through wellness and prevention programs.

#4:  Rein in Out-of-Control Costs

  • A key concern in positive reform is reining in out-of control costs.  This legislation does this by reforming the medical liability system.  Also, the cost of the plan is completely offset through decreasing defensive medicine, savings from health care efficiencies, sifting out waste, fraud and abuse, plus an annual one-percent non defense discretionary spending step down.

I agree in principle, that nobody should be forced to choose between death & slavery. The end result is, everyone becomes a slave to their debt.

But legislating in the healthcare industry was the direct cause of what needs to be fixed. Congress never had the power to create a national healthcare system. That isn’t to say we couldn’t come together to Constitute a National Healthcare Lawmaking body, elected specifically for that purpose. But prior to the 1970’s, (but after medicaid was offered) all healthcare was non-profit. Congress intentionally broke the system so that they could reap the benefits from the healthcare industry. A wealthy doctor contributes to campaigns. It’s hard to believe that just 100 yrs ago, Medical Doctors were considered the alternative medicine.

So while Congress is tasked with fixing a system they broke, we should ask ourselves… what’s in it for them? Do they ever do anything that doesn’t benefit them personally in the end? I don’t think they are capable of unselfish legislation. I could be wrong…

tritiumae, i have blogged so much on how everything not only becomes less efficient but far more costly when the government gets into the act. Before Medicare health care was a service like any other service and the cost kept pace with inflation. Before Johnson’s Great Society 60% of the elderly had their own private health care insurance that was affordable (I know because I know what my grandparents paid for their policy and i don’t recall hearing a
them cry that they copuldn’t afford it). Only 40% of the elderly were in need of some help. The debate then was to put these people on Medicaid and charging them on a sliding scale according to income and need. Instead the politicians put all elderly on Medicare and the cost of health care has increase by double and even triple digits ever year since! They forced 100% of the elderly on welfare because that is exactly what Medicare is: Welfare for the Elderly, in order to “help” 40%. And yes, I am 68 years old so I am on Welfare for the elderly too. Why? Because after the government got into the act costs of all health care services went sky high and i could no longer afford my own. (of course there are still too many of those stupid ones who still labor under the belief that the government paying for something makes it FREE! I cringe every time I hear this statement.)

Now because they are approximately 30million Americans who do not have health care insurance, and this number represents many who can afford but will not purchase insurance, many more who are eligible for Medicaid but who have not signed up for it so in reality there are only perhaps 15 million Americans who need some help purchasing their own health care insurance. The politicians are not going to do something to help these 15 million out of 350 million however. They are instead going to “help” the entire 350 Million so as to help the 15 million. Pure stupidity and pure politician as you say.

Thank you for stopping by. And please hop on the band wagon and speak out to your Congressman. Go to the post on Senator McCains Health Care Reform petition survey and take it because it only takes a minute. Go to a Tea Party Rally and make your concerns heard. Talk about the bills that are in Congress right now and that I have posted on this site so you can compare them and tell you Congressman which one you think is better. BB

We need to debate the Effects Cap and Trade will have on forcing Higher Health care Costs and Premiums !!!!

This is Missing from the Debate , and it will have an Impacted , because Energy related Industries feed all Industries and Health care Is like Any other Industry , it uses Energy .

The Way it looks , Even with a Trigger option instead of a Public Option , either way , the people will be forced onto a Government run health care policy , because of the Cap and Trade costs to the Industry and well as all other rise in costs to Industry , taking profits away from the business sector and making it harder for business owners to afford the costs for their Employees health care and other benefits .

WE NEED A DEBATE ABOUT CAP and TRADE , and its Effects to forcing people onto the Government Option !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I rather think that Cape and Trade is over the rainbow, at least for now. Obama could have probably gotten that and Health Care thru this Congress if he had slowed down his agenda, waited until the economy started coming back and not ‘awaken the sleeping giant”. But they did too much too soon and made too much noise about it so the people became alarmed. Did you see the crowds in Washington yesterday? 🙂 BB

The crowds looked like the inaugural did in Jan , but I did not see coverage in the medias . I have to go to the conservative sights to see pictures of the sizes of the crowds , you can’t see it on the major networks , talk about censorship at work …..

That is why I put in some of the MSM coverage so we could compare. LOL They are soooooo lame. Falling like stones in the ratings and still haven’t caught on to the fact that they American people are waking up and going to FOX for the real news. BBBB
